Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer, maintain, and tune Oracle and SQL Server databases, ensuring their security, integrity, and availability
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures
- Participate in database configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot operational issues
- Maintain documentation, standards, and governance practices for database environments
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, user permissions, and data encryption
- Collaborate with the IT (Information Technology) team to design and implement database solutions that meet the organization's requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, working closely with other IT teams and vendors as necessary
- Adhere to all relevant security and compliance policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Active CompTIA Security+ certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements)
- 3+ years of experience as a SQL database administrator (DBA)
- 3+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting corporate databases including installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and/or upgrading Oracle databases (RDBMS versions10g, 11g, 12c and higher)
- 3+ years of experience working with relational database management systems (Exadata, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Experience working effectively in a team environment
- Experience with database security and encryption technologies
- Experience with government security standards and regulations, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), or RMF (Risk Management Framework)
