Job Description:

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

The Director, Detection, Response & Data Engineering is the senior engineering leader within Security Monitoring & Remediation (SM&R), responsible for the delivery, stability, resilience, and continuous improvement of the Bank's security monitoring and response technology estate.

The role provides leadership across SIEM Engineering, SIEM Operations, Advanced Threat Response, and Security Data Services, ensuring critical cyber security platforms operate effectively, meet regulatory requirements, and support the Bank's ability to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering teams responsible for security monitoring, threat detection, threat response, and security data services.
• Ensure the availability, stability, resilience, and effective operation of business critical cyber security platforms.
• Own engineering governance, operational risk management, technology lifecycle planning, and service improvement activities.
• Drive prioritization and delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Represent SM&R engineering in senior technology, security, risk, and audit forums, acting as the primary escalation point for engineering related matters.

Skills

• Strong leadership experience within cyber security engineering, security operations, or enterprise technology environments.
• Deep understanding of security monitoring, SIEM platforms, threat detection, and incident response.
• Proven experience managing business critical technology services with high availability and resilience requirements.
• Experience managing regulatory, audit, risk, and control obligations within a complex organization.
• Strong stakeholder management, governance, decision making, and people leadership capabilities.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
