Director - Product Ownership for Agentic AI PCs

Description -

Role purpose

Lead the Product Owner organization that translates customer intent into useful, trusted agentic experiences on HP PCs and edge devices. Own persona definition, experience design, feature trade-offs, and adoption success criteria. Guide product choices across the device, operating system, AI runtime, and connected services so the shipped experience delivers measurable customer value under real device constraints.

Our organization advances HP AI Roadmap through capabilities deeply integrated into HP PCs and edge devices.

Key responsibilities
  • Product direction. Define experience strategy and a prioritized portfolio of customer problems. Translate the four intelligence focus areas into coherent use cases and measurable product outcomes.
  • Intent and experience. Lead research, journey design, and prototyping. Specify agent behavior, context use, consent, human confirmation, recovery, accessibility, and continuity across devices.
  • Device requirements. Convert experience goals into acceptance criteria for responsiveness, battery impact, memory use, offline behavior, and privacy. Agree local versus cloud execution trade-offs with engineering.
  • Backlog ownership. Develop Product Owners who maintain clear priorities, testable requirements, and sprint goals with agile squads. Resolve feature trade-offs using customer evidence and platform readiness.
  • Experience acceptance. Evaluate working increments on representative PCs and edge devices. Accept the intended experience against agreed criteria and drive changes when task completion, trust, or usability falls short.
  • Adoption learning. Define activation, sustained usage, task success, and customer satisfaction measures. Partner with Portfolio Operations and Divisions on pilots and adoption feedback that changes priorities.
  • Organization leadership. Hire and develop product leaders, manage capacity and investment proposals, and build succession plans. Represent product decisions and unresolved trade-offs to senior executives.

Required qualifications
  • Typically 15 or more years in technology product management, product ownership, or related technical roles, including at least 7 years leading teams and experience managing managers.
  • Demonstrated ownership of commercially shipped PC, device, or embedded-system experiences, with evidence of adoption or customer-outcome improvement after launch.
  • Experience bringing AI or ML capabilities into production products, plus practical understanding of agentic workflows, tool use, contextual behavior, and evaluation of probabilistic outputs.
  • Ability to make informed experience trade-offs involving CPU, GPU, or NPU capability, OS integration, memory, latency, power, privacy, and intermittent connectivity.
  • Success leading discovery and iterative delivery across product, design, and systems engineering, with clear acceptance criteria and evidence-based prioritization.
  • Ability to build global leadership teams, manage budgets and capacity, and influence executives. Degree in engineering, computer science, HCI, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred experience
  • Experience with Windows PCs, connected-device ecosystems, enterprise endpoint requirements, or collaboration with OEM, silicon, and OS partners.
  • Experience with on-device generative AI, multimodal interaction, personalization, or coordinated experiences spanning local devices and cloud services.
  • Exposure to device-linked subscriptions, feature packaging, and enterprise or consumer adoption programs.

Success measures
  • Experience outcomes. Task completion, response-time acceptance, user trust, and satisfaction on target devices.
  • Adoption. Activation and repeat usage against agreed persona and use-case targets.
  • Product clarity. Priority features have validated customer needs, acceptance criteria, and resolved product trade-offs.
  • Leadership. Product Owner capability, retention, succession readiness, and effective decisions across squads.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents, Product Management, Product Ownership, Artificial Intelligence, and UX Research. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Lead with what you built, trained or shipped. This role is judged on the AI system itself, not the tools around it.
