AI in this role
Manages community, developer, and marketing events for a generative media and AI infrastructure ecosystem.
fal is the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. We build the infrastructure, tools, and model access that teams need to move from idea to production, and do it at scale without compromise. For developers and enterprises, fal is the foundation that makes generative media not just possible, but practical: a unified platform where high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability come together to unlock new categories of AI-native products.
As generative media reshapes industries across a market projected to grow by hundreds of billions over the next decade, fal is becoming the ecosystem that ambitious teams build on.
About this role:
fal is looking for an Event Marketing Manager to help bring our community, developer, and broader marketing programs to life.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves producing great experiences and can move comfortably between in-person and virtual formats. You'll be working on developer and community events, meetups, webinars, third-party events, partner programs, ABM activations, and other marketing moments as our event portfolio grows.
We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable building a run of show, configuring a webinar platform, coordinating speakers, working with vendors, and being onsite making sure every detail comes together.
This role is based in San Francisco.
What you’ll do
Own end-to-end execution for community and developer programs, including meetups, workshops, hackathons, dinners, and other gatherings
Produce webinars/livestreams and virtual events from setup through live execution, including platform configuration, registration, speaker prep, rehearsals, technical production, and post-event follow-up
Partner closely with Community Marketing to translate programming ideas into well-run, memorable experiences for developers and creators
Support select third-party conferences, partner activations, customer programs, ABM events, and other initiatives as needed
Build event timelines, project plans, run-of-shows, staffing plans, and Know Before You Go documentation
Coordinate venues, vendors, production partners, catering, swag, shipping, registration, and onsite logistics
Manage speakers and internal stakeholders, keeping teams aligned on deadlines, roles, and event objectives
Help manage event budgets and contracts and keep programs on scope and on schedule
Partner with Marketing, Community, Sales, Partnerships, Brand, and other cross-functional teams
Track attendance, engagement, feedback, and other program results, and use learnings to continuously improve future events
Help build repeatable processes and playbooks as fal’s event portfolio scales
Qualifications/Nice-to-haves
5+ years of experience in event marketing, event production, developer marketing, community marketing, field marketing, or a related role
Experience owning events end-to-end, from initial planning through onsite or live execution
Hands-on experience producing webinars or virtual events and confidence managing the technical details behind them
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, stakeholders, and deadlines at once
Excellent attention to detail and a high bar for the attendee experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative, low-ego working style and comfort partnering across technical and non-technical teams
The ability to operate independently, solve problems quickly, and stay calm when plans change
Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where not every process or playbook already exists
Ability to travel as needed for events
Experience working with developer, creator, startup, or technical communities
Experience at an AI, developer tools, infrastructure, or high-growth technology company
Experience with event registration, webinar, CRM, or marketing automation platforms
Familiarity with hackathons, developer workshops, or hands-on technical programming
