Your Role: Own the Challenge
The Events & Exhibitions Specialist is a key member of the Events & Exhibitions Center of Expertise (CoE), responsible for planning and delivering external events and trade shows across the LATAM region. In this role, you will translate business and marketing objectives into impactful event experiences, ensuring the consistent application of global standards while adapting execution to regional and local market needs.
In addition to leading regional event initiatives, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the global Events & Exhibitions CoE by helping shape its strategy, operating model, governance, services, processes, event management tools, and internal capabilities.
This position follows a remote work model, offering the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries and functions within ABB Motion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of external events and trade shows across the LATAM region.
- Translate marketing and business objectives into impactful event experiences and execution plans.
- Manage end-to-end event operations, including budgets, suppliers, logistics, agencies, event technology, and on-site execution.
- Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging, business objectives, and event execution.
- Ensure compliance with ABB brand guidelines, governance requirements, and CoE standards.
- Measure event effectiveness through KPIs, post-event reporting, and performance analysis, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of ABB Motion's global Events & Exhibitions Center of Expertise through best practices, process enhancements, and capability-building initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience planning and executing external events, exhibitions, and trade shows within a global or matrixed organization.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end event projects, including budgets, suppliers, logistics, event technology, and on-site execution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across regions and functions.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience measuring event success through KPIs, post-event reporting, and performance analysis.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese language skills are a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working within a Center of Excellence (CoE), shared services environment, or another regional/global delivery model.
- Knowledge of event technologies, registration platforms, lead capture tools, and CRM systems.
- Experience developing event management processes, playbooks, templates, and best practices.
- Experience facilitating training, coaching, or knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Familiarity with procurement and supplier management processes.
