Firmware Development Undergraduate Engineering Co-op

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Firmware Development Undergraduate Engineering Co-op based in Canada.

This eight-month co-op offers undergraduate students hands-on experience at the intersection of software, firmware, and hardware engineering. You will contribute to integrated circuit and custom silicon development while working alongside experienced engineers. The role focuses on software that directly interfaces with hardware, including microcode, IP-specific firmware, FPGA, and DSP environments. You will also design abstraction layers that connect low-level hardware with higher-level software and participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and validation. The position provides exposure to SoC, processor, embedded systems, and digital ASIC technologies while allowing you to contribute to real engineering challenges. It is designed for students who are curious, collaborative, self-directed, and eager to build practical engineering experience.
