Industrial Design Internship - Shaving Experience DesignAt Philips, we create grooming experiences that help people look and feel their best every day. Within our Shaving Experience Design team, we shape the future of shaving by turning user needs, technology and brand ambition into meaningful, intuitive and desirable product experiences.
We are looking for a curious, hands-on Industrial Design Intern who is excited to explore, create and make ideas tangible. You will work closely with designers, engineers, researchers and business colleagues, contributing to projects from early exploration through to concept development, visualisation and prototyping.
In This Role, You Will
- Support front-end innovation and product-development projects for shaving experiences.
- Support to translate user insights, trends and project briefs into relevant product concepts and design directions.
- Create sketches, storyboards, mock-ups, CAD models, renders and simple prototypes to communicate and evaluate ideas.
- Explore product form, ergonomics, interaction, materials, finishes and visual design language for shaving products.
- Participate in rapid iteration cycles: making, testing, learning and improving concepts based on feedback.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners to understand technical feasibility, manufacturing considerations and business needs.
- Experiment with creative tools and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate ideation, visualisation and design iteration.
- Help build clear, compelling design presentations that support team decisions.
You’re the Right Fit If
- You are currently studying Industrial Design, Product Design or related at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates strong product-design thinking, sketching, form development, prototyping and visual communication.
- You are interested in designing tangible consumer products and improving everyday user experiences.
- You enjoy working across the full design process, from early exploration to refined concepts.
- You have experience with, or curiosity for, tools such as Rhino, SolidWorks, KeyShot, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
- You are interested in the relationship between user experience, technology, sustainability, materials and manufacturing.
- You are proactive, collaborative, open to feedback and eager to learn in a fast-paced team environment.
- An interest in grooming, personal care or consumer electronics is a plus.

You will be part of the Shaving Experience Design team, working alongside experienced designers and cross-functional partners. We value curiosity, collaboration and a maker mindset: moving quickly from insight to idea, and from idea to something people can experience.

his internship is a six-month program, based in Shenzhen China, with in-person collaboration expected 4 days per week.
