Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As an HR Intern at Unilever, you will support initiatives that help create a positive and seamless employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle. Working alongside HR and People Experience professionals, you will gain exposure to a broad range of people-related topics while contributing to projects that support employees, managers, and the wider organization.
Depending on the team and business priorities, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting activities across different stages of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee support, leave management, and offboarding.
- Assisting with projects focused on enhancing the employee experience and improving HR processes and services.
- Analyzing HR data and employee insights to identify trends, support reporting activities, and inform decision-making.
- Contributing to continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives aimed at simplifying HR processes and improving operational efficiency.
- Supporting the implementation and adoption of digital HR tools and employee self-service solutions.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, People Partners, and other business functions to coordinate activities and deliver solutions.
- Assisting with project planning, stakeholder communication, and change management activities related to People Experience initiatives.
What You'll Learn
During this internship, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop a broad understanding of how HR supports employees throughout their entire journey, from recruitment and onboarding to employee support and offboarding.
- Gain exposure to multiple HR disciplines, including People Experience, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, and HR Operations.
- Build strong analytical and problem-solving skills by working with HR data, insights, and process improvement opportunities.
- Learn how digital tools, automation, AI, and employee self-service solutions are transforming the HR function.
- Develop stakeholder management and project management capabilities by working with teams across different functions and countries.
- Gain practical experience in balancing operational excellence with employee-centric thinking in a global organization.
- Take ownership of meaningful projects that contribute to improving employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

What we're looking for:
- Available for 5-6 months starting February-March 2027 (minimum 32-40 hours per week)
- Currently enrolled in a (HBO) Dutch university, Bachelor's program (3rd or 4th year) or a Master's program
- Eager to learn, challenge yourself, and take ownership of impactful projects
- Available to work on site 2-3 days a week at our Rotterdam Office
