Job Description

Just imagine a world where more than 200 product teams can manage critical network infrastructure changes themselves, through intuitive APIs and command-line tools. – Well, that’s where we are by now. But perhaps we can make it even better!

About the role

As our Lead Engineer - Network Namespace Management, you'll help shape and evolve core network services across the LEGO® Group. You'll drive the development of DNS, DHCP and certificate management capabilities delivered as self-service products, enabling teams to make critical infrastructure changes within their own areas of responsibility. You'll also help evolve vendor-agnostic data models for devices and identities while applying site reliability principles to ensure highly available services across your scope.

Required Qualifications

  • Developed API and CLI front ends enabling product teams to perform DNS, DHCP or certificate management changes independently.
  • Built and maintained turn-key network services covering DNS, DHCP and certificate management.
  • Applied Kubernetes and site reliability engineering practices to always-on production services.
  • Demonstrated deep experience with DNS, DHCP and certificate-management technologies.
  • Designed vendor-agnostic data models for network devices and identities.
  • Mentored engineers and acted as a technical role model while aligning architecture before implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coordinated delivery of self-service infrastructure features used by 200+ product teams.

What you'll build

  • Self-service network namespace capabilities that reduce reliance on infrastructure specialists.
  • Streamlined command-line interfaces for DNS, DHCP and certificate management with a goal of eliminating support requests from product teams.
  • Network identity and device data models, that remain vendor agnostic and scalable.
  • Platform capabilities that allow engineering teams to manage infrastructure confidently within their own domains.
  • Services that drive API and CLI adoption across the organization and reduce manual case handling.

If you've worked in a role where you built self-service infrastructure platforms, managed critical network services, or designed data models that supported large engineering organizations, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on engineering, make thoughtful architectural decisions, and help others succeed through mentoring and collaboration.

Life on the team

You'll join Digital Technology's Network & Connectivity area, where the Network Namespace Management team delivers mission-critical services covering domain systems, network identity services and core data models. The team operates with a hybrid rhythm across multiple locations and disciplines. Technical leadership is built through capability communities, architecture forums, planning processes and close collaboration with product teams. We value collaboration, engineering excellence, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. You'll work with engineers across Digital Technology to enable teams to take ownership of the products they build and operate.

We are an international team based at the vibrant LEGO® Campus in Billund. The work environment is exciting, inspiring, and flexible – and we have some fun along the road!

What success looks like

Success means becoming a trusted technical leader who can balance stakeholder needs with user outcomes while shaping key platform capabilities for the future. You'll help advance the management of domain names, DDI and IP address management, and secure communication between devices. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the team will continue expanding self-service capabilities and strengthening critical network services. You'll work closely with engineers and technical stakeholders across Digital Technology to help scale secure, reliable and easy-to-use platform services.

Please note: If you require any reasonable accommodation or adjustments throughout the application process, please let us know. We will work with you to meet your needs.
