Job Description:
- We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the development of Virtual Test Cards (VTC) and validation solutions used across Intel's product development lifecycle.
- The role focuses on the design, development, validation, and debugging of Simics-based virtual models and software tools that emulate physical test cards and validation hardware integrated into HSLE, PV, and other validation environments.
- These solutions are used to validate and test complex hardware and software interactions in both pre-silicon and post-silicon environments, enabling early feature development, system integration, platform bring-up, debugging, and verification.
- They play a critical role in improving product quality and reducing time-to-market by providing scalable validation capabilities before and after silicon availability.
- As part of the team, you will work closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to develop innovative validation tools and infrastructure, enhance simulation and automation capabilities, and support next-generation platform development from architecture definition through product deployment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field with 2 to 6 years of experience.
- Strong software development skills in C++ and Python, with experience building and maintaining complex software systems.
- Experience in embedded software/firmware development, including low-level programming, debugging, and hardware-software interaction.
- Solid understanding of the PCI Express (PCIe) protocol, including architecture, configuration space, enumeration, and data flow.
- Hands-on experience with Simics, simulation environments, virtual platforms, or system-level modeling.
- Experience with debugging complex system-level issues across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
- Familiarity with modern software development methodologies, version control systems, and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar solutions to improve software development productivity, code quality, and engineering efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Questions you could be asked
- What's a project where you used ChatGPT hands-on?
- Walk me through how you've used Copilot in your day-to-day work.
- This role expects you to use AI tools as part of the job. Which ones have you used, and for what?
- Tell me about a time an AI tool got something wrong. How did you catch it?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: ChatGPT and Copilot. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list. This role treats it as a required part of the job.
