AI in this role
Manage stock integrity, shrinkage investigations, and inventory control operations across dark stores and distribution centers.
foodpanda is part of the Delivery Hero Group, the world’s pioneering local delivery platform, our mission is to deliver an amazing experience—fast, easy, and to your door. About the opportunity
The Manager, Inventory Control owns stock integrity across foodpanda Bangladesh's pandamart dark stores and DC, as the country lead in foodpanda's new regional Inventory Control operating model. You will own local investigations and drive every corrective action to closure, working with Ops, Commercial, DP and Finance, and with the regional Inventory Control team that sets common standards. Every point of shrinkage you recover goes straight to the bottom line, and every accurate record means fewer items customers can't get.
Responsibilities
Standards & Playbook: Own local stock integrity under the regional playbook: clear RACI ownership for every inventory task, and every stock adjustment controlled, evidenced and approved, with prevention, detection and correction mechanisms.
Shrinkage Investigation: Review exceptions daily, investigate causes, assign corrective actions and escalate unresolved material losses, including unknown shrink, working with security staff where needed.
Stock Adjustments: Check adjustments and write-offs for supporting evidence, correct reason codes and required approvals; resolve unsupported or unusual entries and fix the master-data and virtual stock issues behind them (barcodes, UoM, SKU mapping).
Sales Buffers: Review sales buffers with Ops against agreed rules, flag exceptions and confirm required corrections are completed.
Returns, Reserved Stock & Transfers: Validate RTV against supplier terms and track collection and credit notes; clear reserved stock by age and reason; match DC-to-store dispatched and received quantities and close overdue transfers.
Expiry Control: Spot-check physical expiry dates against system records, strengthen FEFO and near-expiry actions, and reduce expiry write-offs.
Cycle Counts & Stocktakes: Confirm scheduled cycle counts are completed, investigate variances and track recurring causes; plan and complete wall-to-wall stocktakes at the agreed frequency and retain evidence for audit.
Shrinkage Reduction: Publish shrinkage versus target weekly, identify the largest loss drivers and review corrective-action progress with owners.
DOH, Slow & Zero Movers: Identify high-DOH, slow and zero movers by category and location; agree clearance, transfer, return or replenishment actions with DP and Commercial, and track progress weekly.
Store Controls: Visit stores using a standard checklist, verify stock-handling controls, document gaps and confirm corrective actions are closed.
Finance Reconciliation: Reconcile inventory records with Finance every month (Looker extracts against SAP), explain differences and obtain Finance sign-off by the close deadline; act as the escalation point for inventory disputes between Ops and Finance.
Performance Reporting: Report KPIs against targets (inventory accuracy, shrinkage, unknown shrink, InF caused by inventory errors, expiry write-offs and DOH), and agree corrective actions, accountable owners and due dates.
Regional Alignment: Work with the regional Inventory Control team to implement common standards and support assurance, and train store and DC teams on stock handling and recordkeeping.

- Solid understanding of inventory accounting, reconciliations and audit requirements.
- Proven ability to investigate discrepancies, find root causes and turn findings into practical process fixes.
- High attention to detail, persistence in following issues to closure, and uncompromising integrity.
- Experience with perishables and expiry management is a strong plus; SQL, BI tools or workflow automation is an advantage.
