In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a three-shift molding manufacturing environment. You will directly manage a team of approximately 6 direct reports including supervisors and engineers while overseeing approximately 100 indirect reports, working collaboratively to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards to produce an array of molded electrical connectivity products.  As part of this responsibility, you will also have oversight responsibility for tooling design and creation through the support of two tool designers, and a machine shop.  Critical to success will be driving continuous improvement initiatives and optimizing resources to meet operational goals.  You will work closely with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), Engineering, Maintenance, and Materials teams to support daily operations, troubleshoot production challenges, and implement best practices in lean manufacturing. Your ability to lead and develop teams, resolve issues in real time, and maintain a high-performance culture will be key to success.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division at the Manufacturing Facility in Hackettstown, NJ.  

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting a three-shift molding production operation, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment across shifts.
• Directly managing molding production supervisors, while providing leadership and guidance to approximately 100 indirect reports across multiple shifts.
• Directly managing tool designers and a machine shop supervisor.
• Driving performance by monitoring key production metrics, including efficiency, downtime, scrap reduction, and throughput.
• Supporting and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing including 5+ years of leadership experience, ideally in a multi-shift environment.
• Previous Rubber Molding Manufacturing experience is a definite plus.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems and production tracking tools.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations with a focus on maintaining compliance and fostering a safe work environment.
• Proven ability to manage and develop teams, particularly in high-volume manufacturing operations.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $157,920 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
