Job Description
Role Overview
This individual contributor Consultant role supports Visa's ecosystem risk and compliance programs by designing and implementing compliance solutions, leading complex investigations, conducting risk-based analysis, and executing monitoring and enforcement activities that protect the integrity of the Visa payment ecosystem and support adherence to Visa International By-Laws, Visa Core Rules, Product and Service Rules, and related policies.
The Consultant independently identifies and assesses potential risk, non-compliant activity, and Visa Rules violations; performs complex data-driven analysis; develops actionable insights and recommendations; and leads remediation, negotiation, and enforcement efforts to drive client compliance and reduce ecosystem risk. The role is accountable for evaluating compliance issues, exercising sound judgment within established frameworks, managing sensitive matters, and escalating issues as appropriate to minimize operational, financial, brand, and reputational risk.
Working cross-functionally with Global Risk, PERC, Rules & Compliance, regional risk teams, Client Services, Account Executives, and external clients, the Consultant fosters consistent application of risk and compliance standards and serves as a trusted advisor on compliance-related matters. The position leads moderately complex initiatives, coordinates key compliance programs, develops reporting and analytics to measure program effectiveness, and contributes to the continuous enhancement of enforcement strategies, operational processes, and program performance.
The role operates with limited supervision, manages multiple concurrent priorities, influences compliance outcomes through stakeholder engagement and negotiation, and may provide guidance, task coordination, and oversight to less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigations and compliance reviews across Visa Rules and ecosystem risk programs, identifying emerging risks, non-compliant activity, and control weaknesses, and driving remediation and enforcement actions to mitigate risk and strengthen ecosystem integrity.
- Perform advanced data analysis and develop actionable insights, reporting, and performance metrics to inform compliance strategy, risk prioritization, program effectiveness, and executive decision-making.
- Drive client compliance through investigation, consultation, negotiation, corrective action planning, and enforcement activities, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and sustainable manner.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders by interpreting Visa Rules, providing risk-based guidance, and influencing compliance outcomes across a range of business scenarios.
- Manage high-priority, sensitive, and complex compliance matters, exercising sound judgment and escalating significant risks or policy issues when appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Clients, Account Executives, Client Services, Risk, Rules & Compliance, and regional stakeholders to support consistent program execution and client engagement.
- Lead multiple concurrent investigations, remediation plans, and strategic initiatives, balancing competing priorities while ensuring adherence to program standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and execution of compliance strategies, program enhancements, operational improvements, and annual planning activities that strengthen Visa's risk management and enforcement capabilities.
- Analyze compliance trends, enforcement outcomes, and industry developments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhance the effectiveness of global compliance programs.
- Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to less experienced team members, support cross-functional projects, and drive alignment across global teams to ensure consistent compliance and enforcement outcomes worldwide.
