Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Civil Inspector with extensive experience in the oil and Gas industry for ADNOC Onshore client to be based in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.    Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at onshore site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.    The Role  To inspect, monitor, and verify all civil and structural construction activities during project execution, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, approved procedures, quality plans, and HSE requirements.

  • Inspect civil construction activities including:
    • Earthworks and excavation
    • Backfilling and compaction
    • Foundations
    • Reinforcement installation
    • Formwork
    • Concrete pouring and curing
    • Structural steel foundations
    • Grouting
    • Roads and paving
    • Underground utilities
    • Drainage systems
  • Verify contractor work complies with:
    • Approved drawings
    • IFC drawings
    • Method Statements
    • Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
    • ADNOC standards
    • International codes (ACI, ASTM, BS, ISO)
  • Witness inspections and material testing including:
    • Soil compaction tests
    • Concrete slump tests
    • Cube compressive strength tests
    • Rebar inspections
    • Survey checks
  • Review and approve Request for Inspection (RFI) submitted by the contractor.
  • Identify non-conforming work and raise NCRs or observations where necessary.
  • Monitor corrective actions until close-out.
  • Ensure work is executed safely in accordance with ADNOC HSE requirements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
  • Coordinate with construction engineers, QA/QC engineers, surveyors, and HSE personnel.
  • Maintain daily inspection reports, punch lists, and progress records.
  • Participate in site walkdowns, pre-commissioning inspections, and final acceptance inspections.

HSE Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work complies with ADNOC HSE rules.
  • Verify permits are available before inspection.
  • Stop unsafe work when necessary.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety audits.
  • Promote a zero-incident culture.

Expected:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of civil inspection experience in oil & gas or industrial construction.
  • Previous ADNOC Onshore or major Middle East oil & gas project experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a PMC or consultant role is an advantage.
