Have you led a security business, or served as a CISO ready for Amazon scale? Do you shape security product strategy at the executive level? We are looking for a leader who has broad and deep knowledge of cloud computing, software architecture, and networking. You should understand how identity and access management, encryption, and related technologies shape security and compliance. Do you have solid experience understanding and influencing security-related technology decisions made by private and public sector customers? Are you able to analyze and influence product and service teams to ensure that they align with a strategy that ensures optimal security for cloud computing customers?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security seeks an experienced information security professional to augment the effectiveness of the AWS Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) as part of the AWS Office of the CISO. As a key member of the Office of the CISO, you will engage with both external customers and partners, as well as internal teams. A growing share of this work centers on securing AI and agentic workloads, which is now the most frequent theme in senior customer engagements.

The ideal candidate will possess a diverse background in information security management, solution architecture, and/or engineering. You will also bring deep knowledge of cloud computing, industry trends, and product development, along with strong business, organizational, and technical skills. This role requires a passion for customers and their missions, a strong ability to influence and guide, and a track record of innovation. You will also bring a desire to learn, genuine curiosity, and a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity while creating clarity as you move forward.

Key job responsibilities
- Engage external customers, partners, and internal teams to explain how the AWS cloud provides a secure and compliant platform for their workloads
- Influence customers forward on their secure journey to the cloud, keeping security-related requirements front-and-center in service team roadmaps
- Own the customer security experience end-to-end, serving as the customer-facing authority on the risks of operating in the cloud and carrying that signal back to the service teams who can raise the bar
- Go deep on an assigned security domain worldwide, holding senior counterpart relationships at CISO, board, and regulator altitude while carrying customer signal to service team leadership
- Advise customers and builders on securing AI and agentic workloads
- Scale and influence key decision-makers both externally and internally, while diving deep with a rich grasp of the details
- Apply generative and agentic AI to scale your own reach, holding yourself to the same secure practices you ask of the builders you advise
- Develop and deliver thought leadership content — including reference architectures, blog posts, keynotes, and presentations — and represent AWS at industry events to educate technical and business audiences on best practices and emerging patterns.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback across use cases, partnering with product and engineering teams to influence product direction, close gaps in services, and anticipate future customer needs including GenAI integration and cloud security architecture.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Cloud Security, Information Security, Security Architecture, Identity And Access Management, and Compliance. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list. This role treats it as a required part of the job.
