Principal Product Manager – Technical, Employee Experience Strategy (Leave Services), DLS Tech

AI in this role

Amazon's Disability, Leave & Services (DLS) Product & Technology organization is looking for a Principal Product Manager – Technical to own the strategy for the end-to-end Employee Experience, spanning the employee, the Site HR partner, and the manager, along with the communications that tie them together. Leaves are among the highest-empathy moments in an employee's career. Today that experience is fragmented across systems, teams, and channels; you will own the strategy to make it feel like one seamless, trustworthy, and deeply human experience for millions of Amazonians and their families, no matter who you are or how you engage.

This is a horizontal, multi-audience strategy role. You will set the multi-year vision for how employees, managers, and HR partners experience Leaves, and you will define the communications strategy that keeps every stakeholder informed at the moment that matters. You will turn a complex stakeholder map, Benefits, Accommodations, HRSC, Legal, and the AI/agent platform teams, into a single coherent roadmap.

Key job responsibilities
● Set the multi-year product vision and strategy for the end-to-end Employee Experience across Leave services, spanning the employee, the Site HR partner, and the manager
● Own the Manager experience: give people leaders clarity and confidence when a team member goes on leave, from initial request through return-to-work
● Own the Site HR experience: equip HR partners with the tools, context, and workflows to advocate for employees and resolve cases faster
● Own the Communications strategy: define how, when, and through which channel every stakeholder is informed, proactive, personalized, and timed to the moment
● Drive alignment across A to Z, Payroll, HRSC, Legal, and the AI/agent platform teams, turning competing priorities into a single sequenced roadmap
● Partner with the Native AI platform teams to reimagine communications and support as intelligent, proactive, and personalized
● Define the metrics that prove the experience is improving, reduced touchpoints, faster resolution, higher trust, and lower escalation

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and implementing strategic initiatives

- Experience defining roadmap strategy and prioritizing deliverables for your team products

Preferred qualifications

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
- Experience in HR shared services, IT services, operations and/or compliance
- Experience in a direct or matrixed role leading technical and non-technical transformation project teams with a proven ability to work across broad functional teams
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience designing multi-audience experiences serving employees, managers, and HR partners within the same ecosystem
- Experience defining communications and notification strategies that are proactive, personalized, and channel-aware
- Experience in benefits, healthcare, or financial services
- Track record of using upstream product authority to measurably accelerate team velocity
