Who we are

Worldline helps businesses of all shapes and sizes to accelerate their growth journey - quickly, simply, and securely. We are the innovators at the heart of the payments technology industry, shaping how the world pays and gets paid. Our technology powers the growth of millions of businesses across 5 continents. And just as we help our customers accelerate their business, we are committed to helping our people accelerate their careers. Together, we shape the evolution.

The opportunity

If you are an engineer who enjoys turning loosely defined requirements into reliable automated tests, and who learns new tools quickly, we want to hear from you.

The Core Foundation & Integration Tribe (CFI) implements and delivers the Issuing core applications, from Card Issuing lifecycle to Transactions clearing & settlement. With over 150 million cards and 1.16 billion monthly transactions, our platforms operate at the forefront of capacity and performance.

We are now seeking a QA Automation Engineer to help us build fast, reliable test automation for our Issuing platforms and contribute to our strategic product transformation.

You will join a dynamic, co-located team of tech leads, developers and testers. You will automate end-to-end business scenarios on our custom-built testing framework and help keep our core applications reliable throughout the whole development lifecycle.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated test suites on our custom-built testing framework, extending it with new keywords and libraries where needed.
  • Clarify what matters in features with limited context, then turn them into automated coverage using the existing framework or another suitable tool.
  • Automate end-to-end scenarios that span REST APIs, messaging flows and databases, from quick smoke tests to full regression suites.
  • Write maintainable Python code, Robot Framework tests and Shell scripts that prepare test data, set up environments or run suites.
  • Take part in code reviews and keep CI/CD pipelines green by fixing flaky tests at the root cause.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to work faster and improve code quality.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts and tech leads to understand new features early.
  • Share what you learn with the team and suggest ways to improve how we test.

Who are we looking for

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

  • Degree in a scientific field and 3+ years of hands-on test automation experience, with a software engineering mindset that goes beyond test scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Robot Framework and Shell scripting (sh/bash).
  • Experience with REST API testing, SQL databases, Git and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI.
  • Practical experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in day-to-day work.
  • Fast learner who ramps up on an existing framework, picks the right tool for the job and delivers working automation with little context.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with attention to edge cases; Scrum experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the payments industry, including credit card schemes (Visa, Mastercard) and the credit card lifecycle, is a plus.
  • ISTQB certification is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (C1); additional languages (French, German, Italian) are appreciated.

Questions you could be asked

  1. What's a project where you used Claude hands-on?
  2. Walk me through how you've used Copilot in your day-to-day work.
  3. What are the limits of Claude Code that you've run into, and how did you work around them?
  4. This role expects you to use AI tools as part of the job. Which ones have you used, and for what?
  5. Tell me about a time an AI tool got something wrong. How did you catch it?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Claude, Copilot, and Claude Code. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list. This role treats it as a required part of the job.
