THE ROLE

We're hiring a Revenue Analyst to scale the data foundation behind Baseten's revenue and usage reporting.

This role sits between Finance and Revenue Operations. You'll connect contract terms, pricing and CPQ data, product usage, metering, billing and invoices into one accurate view of customer revenue. Working with Finance Systems, you'll turn new pricing and contract structures into durable data models and dashboards that Finance and Revenue Operations can trust.

EXAMPLE INITIATIVES

Take a look at these recent posts on the products and growth this role will help us measure:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain production-grade dbt models and dashboards that connect Salesforce and CPQ, contracts, Orb and product usage data.

  • Create canonical marts for customers, products, contract terms, subscriptions, commitments, credits, billable usage and invoices.

  • Reconcile metered product usage to billed revenue, invoice line items and contract terms, and investigate gaps before they affect customers or financial reporting.

  • Partner with Finance and Revenue Operations to define and govern metrics for bookings, contracted commitments, consumption, billed revenue, ARR, NDR and expansion.

  • Support monthly close, revenue forecasting and operating reviews with variance and trend analysis.

  • Document metric logic, source ownership, lineage and exception handling.

  • Add tests and version control so revenue data stays reliable as systems change.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, revenue analytics or a related role, ideally at a high-growth B2B company.

  • Advanced SQL and dbt skills, with a track record of building production-grade models, tests, documentation and lineage in a cloud data warehouse.

  • Hands-on experience with usage-based billing or metering platforms such as Orb, and payment platforms such as Stripe.

  • Experience modeling usage-based commercial terms, including minimum commitments, prepaid credits, tiered or volume pricing, overages, custom rate cards and contract changes.

  • Experience working with Salesforce and CPQ data, including products, price books, quotes, orders, amendments and renewals.

  • Experience building dashboards and self-serve analytics in BI tools such as Sigma or Hex.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Strong product judgment and communication, with the ability to turn technical analysis into clear recommendations for Product, Engineering and business partners.

  • Working knowledge of model inference frameworks, model-serving and training workflows, and the infrastructure metrics that drive performance and cost.

  • Hands-on forecasting experience with ARIMA, Prophet or similar time-series methods, including backtesting, error analysis and scenario planning.

  • Practical experimentation experience, including test design, power analysis and knowing when directional evidence is enough to act.

  • Experience with AI infrastructure, developer platforms or inference.

BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity

  • (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents

  • Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)

  • Paid parental leave

  • Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot

  • (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)

  • Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.

Questions you could be asked

  1. Tell me about a research question you investigated. What did you find?
  2. Tell me about a project where analytics engineering was part of your work. What did you do?
  3. Tell me about a project where revenue analytics was part of your work. What did you do?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI Research, Analytics Engineering, Revenue Analytics, Data Modeling, and Financial Reporting. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
