Amazon’s accounting group offers opportunities at the Senior Accountant level in Legal Entity & Intercompany, Accounting Policy & Reporting, Operations and Capital, Transportation, Payments & Merchant Services, Retail Operations, Digital, and AWS Accounting.

Key job responsibilities
• Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.
• Understanding accounting and financial principles and how to apply them.
• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
• Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
• Strong sense of ownership.
• Analysis of complex processes and systems data.

A day in the life
Your morning might start with a deep dive into a data anomaly you spotted in yesterday's financial close, working with your business partners to trace the root cause and implement a fix. By midday, you could be refining a financial model that evaluates a new operational initiative, preparing insights for an upcoming leadership review. In the afternoon, you might collaborate with teammates on automating a recurring report or coach a junior analyst through a new tool. You will regularly engage with stakeholders to ensure your analyses address the questions that matter most.

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred qualifications

- 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
