Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/x)

Job Description:

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in the Engineering function of Private Bank, developing PB’s Business Service Layer (BSL). Business Service Layer is a thin Service layer providing the REST API for the functionality of the private bank including ATMs, Online Banking and Card Authorization.

Responsibilities:

• Further develop and maintain scalable high-performance platform based on Java Spring Boot

• Work closely with the Kubernetes-based private-cloud Platform (Fabric) team to ensure efficient performance and scalability

• Collaborate with the service owners running on BSL to meet project timelines and deliver end-to-end solutions

• Implement best practices for code quality, security and performance

• Contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions

• Mentor and provide technical leadership to our junior developers located in BEX and FFM

Skills:

• A Bachelor of Science or Master degree with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline.

• Deep technical experience in Java (Spring Boot)

• Strong knowledge in database design, indexing, query optimization and transactions

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle or other relational databases

• Experience with RESTful APIs microservice architecture

• Strong experience in software development processes, models, lifecycles and methodologies.

• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
