Senior Marketing Data Analyst (HP Solutions Marketing)

Description -

The Senior Marketing Data Analyst is a critical member of the Global HP Solutions Marketing team, responsible for turning complex marketing performance data into clear, actionable business insights.

This role will serve as a trusted analytics partner to marketing leaders and teams across HP Solutions. The analyst will develop a deep understanding of our marketing data, metrics, dashboards, and reporting flows; bring together information from multiple sources; identify performance drivers and data nuances; and translate findings into recommendations that improve marketing effectiveness and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business curiosity and clear communication. This person should be comfortable working with imperfect or fragmented data, investigating discrepancies, and partnering across teams to establish a reliable view of performance. Beyond reporting what happened, they will help explain why it happened, what it means, and what actions the team should take next.

Responsibilities

Marketing Performance Analysis and Insights

  • Analyze marketing performance across audiences, campaigns, programs, markets, channels, and stages of the customer journey.
  • Translate data into clear insights, implications, and recommendations for marketing leaders and business partners.
  • Identify performance trends, drivers, gaps, and opportunities that inform marketing strategy, investment decisions, and execution.
  • Develop executive-ready performance narratives that connect marketing activity to customer, commercial, and business outcomes.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer priority business questions and support leadership decision-making.
  • Move beyond descriptive reporting to diagnose performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

Data and Dashboard Expertise

  • Develop a deep understanding of HP Solutions marketing data sources, dashboards, metrics, definitions, and reporting processes.
  • Pull, combine, validate, and interpret data from multiple dashboards, platforms, and business sources.
  • Understand how data flows across systems and identify dependencies, limitations, and potential sources of inconsistency.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and partner with relevant teams to resolve issues or clearly communicate limitations.
  • Ensure analyses use appropriate definitions, methodologies, comparison periods, and levels of granularity.
  • Help stakeholders navigate available dashboards and understand what the data can and cannot reliably indicate.

Measurement and Reporting

  • Support recurring marketing performance reporting, leadership reviews, quarterly business reviews, and planning processes.
  • Track relevant metrics across the marketing funnel, including audience engagement, demand generation, conversion, pipeline, revenue influence, and marketing efficiency.
  • Help define appropriate KPIs and measurement approaches based on business objectives and available data.
  • Improve the consistency, accuracy, and usability of marketing performance reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or enhance recurring analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with measurement, operations, finance, and business teams to connect marketing indicators with broader commercial performance.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to HP Solutions marketing leaders, planners, campaign teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analytical approaches.
  • Proactively identify questions and insights that may not be visible through standard reporting.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and use data to bring objectivity to business discussions.
  • Communicate complex findings in a concise, practical, and audience-appropriate way.
  • Build strong relationships across global and market teams to improve data understanding, adoption, and decision-making.

Data Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps in data availability, quality, definitions, and reporting processes.
  • Document key metrics, data sources, methodologies, assumptions, and known limitations.
  • Partner with data owners and technical teams to improve data reliability and reporting capabilities.
  • Promote consistent use of marketing metrics and definitions across the organization.
  • Recommend enhancements to dashboards, reporting workflows, and analytical processes based on stakeholder needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, marketing, economics, statistics, engineering, finance, or a related field.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in data analytics, marketing analytics, business intelligence, commercial analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing marketing or commercial performance data and translating findings into business recommendations.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources, dashboards, and reporting environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization or business intelligence tools, such as Power BI or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to validate data, reconcile discrepancies, and understand the relationships between different metrics and systems.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous questions and develop practical analytical approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create concise, executive-ready insights and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and within a complex, global, or matrixed organization.
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business question.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B, technology, SaaS, services, or solutions marketing.
  • Familiarity with marketing funnel, campaign, demand generation, pipeline, revenue influence, ROI, and incrementality measurement.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other analytical tools used to extract, transform, or analyze data.
  • Experience working with CRM, marketing automation, digital analytics, financial, or customer data.
  • Understanding of data visualization and dashboard design principles.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to automate or streamline recurring reporting.

  • Proactive ownership and accountability
  • Continuous improvement mindset

What Success Looks Like
