A day in the life
As a Senior Operations Manager, you are responsible for multiple areas of an Amazon fulfillment center. You steer operational metrics, develop strategies to deliver on our customer promises, and lead a team of leaders. Your focus is on operational excellence, workplace safety, budget and capacity planning, as well as setting the strategic direction for the months ahead — particularly peak season. You create contingency plans, drive quality and productivity initiatives, and develop your leaders through regular feedback and coaching. In doing so, you combine a hands-on operational mindset with long-term thinking and set the highest standards as a role model across the entire organization.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Speak, write, and read fluently in German and English at C1 level or above
- Experience in manufacturing, production, distribution logistics environments, retail, or grocery management roles
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
- Master's degree in engineering, finance, supply chain, logistics, computer science or equivalent
- Experience with Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
