Senior QA Engineer, Defence 

Do you like testing complex systems and working closely with developers? We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our Product Extension Team in Copenhagen. You will bring senior test expertise to a small team that builds integrations and extensions for Systematic's defence products, with real influence on how we test and improve. 

The job 

As the team's senior tester, you will be its quality advocate, driving how we test and improve across the full development lifecycle. You will combine hands-on test execution with real influence over our testing tools, methods and processes. 

In short, you can look forward to:

• Planning, estimating and executing test activities, and contributing to test estimates in project planning
• Driving quality across the development lifecycle through risk-based test design
• Developing and maintaining system-level automated tests that support feature testing
• Challenging developers and projects on where automation makes the most sense, including weak points in developer-driven tests
• Improving our test tools, methods and processes

You should expect occasional travel of around five to ten days a year, mostly within Europe. Some onsite hardware testing may also be required, depending on integration needs. 

Joining the team

You will be part of the Product Extension Team in Defence Services, around seven developers, test engineers and architects. The team delivers software and hardware integrations such as sensor interfaces, radio drivers and interoperability solutions with external systems, so our customers get functionality tailored to their needs without compromising on quality or maintainability. As the team's senior tester, you will work closely with developers, architects, project management, external system providers and customer representatives, and share your knowledge by mentoring our junior test engineer and running workshops. 

Your qualifications 

To succeed in this role, you bring solid experience in software and/or systems testing, along with:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Technology or similar
• Experience with test management and test design methods
• The ability to drive the implementation of test frameworks and tools, and to review and adapt existing automated test setups
• Familiarity with integrations, APIs, protocols and hardware validation setups
• Experience with tools like JUnit, Cucumber, Playwright, Jira, Xray, Karma and TeamCity, or similar
• Fluent English; Danish is a nice-to-have 

ISTQB Foundation certification, or similar, is an advantage but not a requirement.
