Senior Revenue Accountant

Job Overview:

• We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Revenue Accountant to own the day-to-day execution of our revenue accounting and billing operations. This is a unique opportunity to join a newly established revenue accounting function at the ground level and help build the processes that will scale with Saronic's continued growth and complexity.

• This role will be responsible for the full billing lifecycle of complex government contracts, from sales order validation through invoice submission and payment tracking, as well as drafting technical accounting memos and preparing monthly revenue entries under ASC 606. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on systems fluency and thrives in a fast-paced environment where ownership and follow-through matter.

• The Revenue Accountant will work closely with the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and partner cross-functionally with Contracts, Business Development, and Finance to ensure revenue is recognized properly and cash is collected efficiently.
  

Key Responsibilities:

Billing Operations

Validate and approve sales orders in Salesforce and NetSuite for each Closed Won opportunity, including review of line items and milestone billing schedules on complex contracts with numerous CLINs and option CLINs.

• Prepare and submit customer invoices in NetSuite and WAWF, including milestone eligibility review and CLIN reconciliation, ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with contract terms.

• Own invoice rejection resolution and resubmission, working with internal stakeholders and government systems to keep billing on track.

• Maintain billing and payment status across internal tracking systems, including Overwatch, Salesforce approvals, and the Finance Receipts Tracker, at each billing and payment event.

Revenue Accounting

• Draft ASC 606 technical accounting memos for new contract awards and contract modifications, supporting review and sign-off by revenue accounting leadership.

• Prepare monthly revenue journal entries and supporting reconciliations, ensuring accurate recognition and reporting in accordance with ASC 606.

• Support external audit requests related to revenue, billing, and receivables, maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify and recommend improvements to billing and revenue workflows, supporting automation and systems initiatives across NetSuite and Salesforce.

• Partner with Contracts, Business Development, and Finance to ensure contract terms, billing schedules, and revenue treatment are aligned throughout the award lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or active CPA candidacy a plus.

• 4 – 7 years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting, government contracting, or revenue/billing operations experience preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition; experience independently drafting technical accounting memos required.

• Experience with ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite and Salesforce preferred); familiarity with WAWF or other government invoicing systems highly desirable.

• Experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting highly desirable, including familiarity with CLIN-based contract structures and milestone billing.

• Ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in a lean team environment, including cross-functional communication with varying audiences and stakeholders

• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of end-to-end processes in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
