Join NVIDIA's DOCA Security team and become a pivotal player in transforming the AI landscape! As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing NVIDIA Sentry, a groundbreaking security software framework. Our work encompasses DOCA Argus for host-memory introspection without agents and DOCA Tower, Sentry’s AI security gateway. This role provides a chance to define, implement, and test security features that protect AI agents at runtime, ensuring a flawless and secure computing environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Build and develop innovative runtime-security services on the BlueField DPU using C/C++ and Rust.
- Develop agentless host-memory introspection tools to uncover Linux process and container activity, allowing runtime threat detection.
- Develop gateway capabilities to inspect AI-agent requests and enforce access policies for models, tools, and data.
- Connect workload context with network controls to support AI-agent containment outside the host.
- Maintain host introspection accuracy across various Linux kernel versions, distributions, and host architectures, treating the observed host state as untrusted input.
- Test and optimize runtime monitoring and traffic enforcement for performance and reliability under load.
- Collaborate with security researchers and architects to transform threat models into effective runtime detections and enforcement features.
- Work closely with the DOCA SDK, drivers, Linux kernel, firmware, and hardware teams to deliver coordinated security features.
What we need to see:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 8+ years of systems software development experience in C/C++ on Linux, with a willingness to work in Rust.
- Strong understanding of Linux internals, including memory management, processes, and the networking stack.
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, HTTP, and TLS.
- Hands-on experience with Linux containers and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience in debugging, profiling, and building automated tests for Linux software.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of explaining technical decisions across teams.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Background in runtime security, memory forensics, or virtual-machine introspection.
- Experience with proxies, policy engines, or workload identity systems.
- Knowledge of IPsec/IKEv2 with strongSwan or a similar IKE daemon.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA OpenShell or similar sandbox runtimes for AI agents.
- Contributions to upstream open-source projects through code, reviews, testing, or maintenance.
