AI in this role
Build scalable developer tools, test infrastructure, and AI agent-based developer workflows as a senior software engineer.
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
Observe by Snowflake is an AI-powered observability platform built on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud and engineered for scale. We ingest and store logs, metrics, traces, and events on an open, scalable data lakehouse, using open formats like Apache Iceberg, at dramatically lower cost. A dynamic Context Graph and chat-based AI SRE provide rich context and automated workflows so teams can move from detection to root cause of production issue and resolution 10x faster.
Leading engineering teams at companies like Capital One, Topgolf, and Dialpad rely on Observe to troubleshoot hundreds of terabytes of telemetry daily while maintaining reliability at enterprise scale. As part of Snowflake, Observe combines startup-style ownership and velocity with the global reach, operational excellence, and ecosystem of one of the world’s leading data platforms.
The Team:
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Engineering Productivity for our Engineering team at Observe by Snowflake.
As part of Engineering Productivity at Observe by Snowflake, you will empower engineering teams across the organization by building scalable developer tools, robust build and test infrastructure, and automated release systems. Working at the intersection of developer experience, build systems, AI agent systems, and cloud infrastructure, you will play a critical role in driving engineering velocity and reliability at scale.
In this role your will:
Design, build, and maintain internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and AI agent based developer workflows
Build and scale test infrastructure and test execution frameworks to accelerate developer feedback loops
Improve developer velocity, developer and agent environment tooling, as well as local debugging/testing workflows
Partner with development, infrastructure, and SRE teams to streamline release engineering, deployment reliability, and artifact management
Monitor and optimize build times, test flakiness, and CI performance across the engineering organization
Qualifications:
5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on engineering productivity, developer tooling, agentic workflows, build systems, or release engineering
Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems, build orchestration tools (e.g., Bazel, Nix, Go build tooling), and test automation infrastructure
Strong proficiency in server-side languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++
Hands-on experience with containerization, cloud infrastructure, and release automation
Deep interest in developer experience, developer velocity metrics, and building developer-facing products
Bonus Points:
Experience in backend application development
Experience with open-source developer tools, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code
Experience with observability platforms, telemetry pipelines, or distributed tracing and logging systems (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Jaeger)
Open-source contributions to observability, data infrastructure, or developer productivity projects
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.

Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents, Software Engineering, Developer Tools, Cloud Infrastructure, and CI/CD. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
