AI in this role
NVIDIA is driving the autonomous vehicle revolution, delivering AI-powered visual computing platforms that define tomorrow’s mobility. As vehicles become supercomputers on wheels, our challenge is to build the software foundation that makes advanced driver assistance and safety features truly intelligent.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer based in Stuttgart, Germany, to work directly with automotive customers on the integration and productionization of parking software for the NVIDIA DRIVE platform. Your primary focus will be adapting NVIDIA software to vehicle platforms, diagnosing system-level issues and validating parking behavior in development and production vehicles. You will work across perception, fusion, environment modeling, and vehicle integration to trace problems through the full parking chain, identify root causes, implement or coordinate appropriate solutions, and turn findings into actionable input for NVIDIA engineering teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Integrate and adapt NVIDIA DRIVE parking software on customer development and production vehicles.
- Work on vehicle bring-up, software flashing, data logging, testing and functional validation.
- Triage and analyze issues across the parking chain, from sensor input through perception and fusion to maneuver behavior.
- Collaborate with customer teams and NVIDIA engineering teams across Europe, the US, APAC, and India to identify root causes, deliver program-level solutions, and drive longer-term product corrections.
- Configure and tune parking software for different vehicle platforms, sensor configurations, vehicle geometries, and low-speed maneuvering requirements.
- Debug fusion and environment-modeling behavior that combines sensor and neural-network outputs into a consistent and temporally stable representation of the vehicle surroundings.
- Implement targeted C++ or Python adaptations, debugging tools, and analysis workflows where needed to resolve customer integration and functional issues.
- Measure functional performance through recorded-data replay and in-vehicle testing, and communicate findings clearly to customers and NVIDIA engineering teams.
What we need to see:
- Strong background in ADAS software development and triage, with at least 8+ years of experience including in-vehicle activities.
- Strong programming skills in modern C++ and Python.
- Proficiency in Linux or QNX-based embedded environments.
- Demonstrated ability to systematically isolate system-level issues through log analysis, recorded-data replay and in-vehicle testing, and drive them to resolution across multiple engineering teams.
- Clear technical communication with customers and distributed engineering teams, including the ability to explain findings, tradeoffs and next steps.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working in a customer-facing field environment where priorities may be driven by vehicle availability, integration milestones and production-program needs.
- Valid driver's license and readiness for vehicle testing and international travel.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience with parking or low-speed maneuvering software, or closely related perception, fusion or environment modeling work.
- Production experience with camera- and ultrasonic-based parking or low-speed assistance systems.
- Experience integrating ADAS software into customer vehicle platforms and supporting automotive series programs.
Practical experience turning sensor and perception outputs into usable results through fusion, tracking, filtering or temporal association. - Experience with data-driven development loops, including fleet-data triage, corner-case analysis and feedback to model-training teams.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows and deep neural network development or integration — e.g., in perception tasks such as object detection, segmentation, or depth estimation
NVIDIA offers competitive compensation and benefits. If you want to apply deep parking and perception expertise directly to customer vehicles and help production programs reach reliable real-world performance, we'd like to meet you.
