[What you will be working on] 

We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Public Service Division (PSD) discovery and build team. This role offers an unique opportunity to shape the future of government digital services while working with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

As a Software Engineer, you will:

• Pioneer technological solutions through rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development

• Architect and implement scalable, resilient systems that suit the users’ needs.

• Craft high-quality, maintainable code that addresses real user needs

• Drive technical excellence through code reviews and best practice implementation

• Build and maintain robust automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines

• Create comprehensive technical specifications, design documents and architectural decision records

• Establish team-level norms that guide AI-assisted delivery and use of AI tools

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric solutions

• Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning

[What we are looking for] 

Educational and Professional Background

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Software Engineering roles.

Technical Expertise

• Full-stack development mastery:

• Frontend: React and modern JavaScript frameworks

• Backend: NodeJS, Python, or Golang

• Databases: SQL and NoSQL systems

• Infrastructure and DevOps proficiency:

• Container orchestration (Docker)

• Cloud platforms (AWS)

• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)

• Comfortable working with AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub CoPilot, etc) in software development

• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and software design patterns

Personal Qualities

• Strategic problem-solver with ability to break down complex challenges

• Clarifies ambiguity by asking the right questions.

• Outcome-driven approach in formulating a structured solution

• Collaborative mindset with strong project ownership

• Self-motivated learner with passion for technology

• Excellent communicator capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders

• Natural mentor who elevates team performance

Advantageous Experience

• Familiarity with Singapore Government IT systems and processes

• Understanding of HR processes and enterprise HRM systems.

• Knowledge of Spec Driven Development (SDD)

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu)

• Track record of successful stakeholder management
