AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every customer to grow by providing tailored service, unmatched technology, and consistent support. We dive deep to understand each customer’s unique challenges, then craft innovative solutions that accelerate their success. This customer-first approach is how we built the world’s most adopted cloud. Join us and help us grow.
We are hiring a Senior Solutions Architect to work with Enterprise and Strategic customers in western Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest-growing cloud markets in the Middle East, fuelled by Vision 2030 and ambitious national digital transformation programmes across government, healthcare, aviation, retail, and financial services. This role is central to AWS’s growth strategy in the Kingdom — you will serve as the primary technical advisor for a portfolio of high-profile enterprise customers, helping them modernise legacy platforms, adopt AI and cloud-native architectures, and accelerate their digital agendas.
Solutions Architects engage with customers to understand their business drivers, assess application portfolios, and design reliable, cost-effective cloud-native architectures. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will partner with Account Managers, Business Development representatives, Professional Services, Specialist SAs, and AWS Service Teams to create solutions that address complex business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. You will also play a key role in competitive displacement engagements, helping customers migrate workloads to AWS.

You should enjoy thinking strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. We are looking for candidates who are comfortable at the intersection of technology and business. The Solutions Architect is a technical role — you must be broadly competent across many areas of technology (Generative AI, Agentic AI, cloud infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, application development, data analytics) and deep in at least 2–3 of those areas. On the business side, the ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical for our customers’ successful use of AWS. You will spend most of your day interacting with multiple customer stakeholders, including CxOs, VPs, Directors, Architects, Developers, and Engineers.

Key job responsibilities
• In partnership with Account Managers and Business Development, drive long-term customer success, satisfaction, and trust through the adoption of AWS services and well-architected solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise customers in the Jeddah and western Saudi Arabia region, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing their long-term technology strategy.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and lead deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud, including competitive migration paths from other cloud providers to AWS.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many enablement sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS (e.g., Dev Days, Immersion Days, Workshops, and GameDays).
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community; contribute to customer-facing publications such as white papers, blog posts, and reference architectures.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, AWS Service Teams, and Support — gathering product feedback, driving feature requests, and mentoring fellow Solutions Architects in the region.

A day in the life
As a Senior Solutions Architect in Jeddah, your day revolves around customer impact. You might start the morning preparing an architecture proposal for an enterprise customer exploring a migration from on-premises or competing cloud platforms to AWS. Mid-morning, you join a deep-dive technical session with a customer’s engineering team, whiteboarding a microservices architecture for their digital platform and advising on the right mix of compute, AI/ML, and data services.
After lunch, you collaborate with your Account Manager and the wider account team on a strategy call — aligning on the technical win plan for a competitive opportunity and identifying the right Specialist SAs or ProServe resources to bring in. Later in the afternoon, you might lead a workshop or Immersion Day for a group of developers at a customer site, walking them through hands-on labs on Amazon Bedrock, GenAI application patterns, or container modernisation with EKS.
Between customer meetings, you capture feedback on product gaps, draft a blog post on a solution pattern you designed last week, or review an architecture created by a teammate. Your week also includes internal syncs with the broader KSA SA team, community knowledge-sharing sessions, and preparation for upcoming events. No two days are the same, but the constant is clear: you are the customer’s trusted technical partner, and your work directly drives their success on AWS

Questions you could be asked

  1. How do you structure and test a prompt to get consistent output from a language model?
  2. How would you design a retrieval step so the model answers from real data instead of guessing?
  3. How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
  4. What's a project where you used Hugging Face hands-on?
  5. Walk me through how you've used Bedrock in your day-to-day work.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, Hugging Face, and Bedrock. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
