  What is AWS Transform?

   AWS Transform is building the next generation of Agentic AI services that autonomously migrate and modernize a strategic initiative focused on helping enterprise customers modernize and migrate their enterprise compute, storage, and networking infrastructure into the cloud, with a strong emphasis on VMware-based environments and traditional on-premises data centers. With roughly 7/8 of all enterprise workloads still running on-premises, we sit at the center of one of AWS's most significant growth opportunities.

  We build automated, scalable, and intelligent, agentic solutions — powered by foundation models, chain-of-thought reasoning, and tool-use patterns — and agentic GenAI-powered solutions that that simplify complexity, reduce operational risk, accelerate migration timelines, and unlock long-term agility and cost efficiency for our customers. This is a rare opportunity to do hands-on engineering on an AI-native platform as it takes shape.

  Responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) on the AWS Transform team, you'll design and ship the autonomous agents that reason about complex infrastructure, make intelligent decisions, and orchestrate the be at the heart of designing, building core functions involve orchestrating hundreds or thousands migration of hundreds or thousands of systems and legacy workloads — each with unique technical and operational constraints.

Responsibilities bullets
1. Design, build, and own major components of our Agentic AI migration platform, where autonomous agents discover, plan, and execute data center migrations
2. Contribute to AI-powered network transformation, using generative models to
  analyze, replicate, and optimize enterprise network topologies
3. Drive end-to-end system design, implementation, and delivery, and play a key technical leadership role aligning engineering efforts with customer needs
4. Write high-quality, efficient, and secure code that sets an example for others, and improve the autonomy and accuracy of agentic orchestration
  through iterative development, testing, and measurement
5. Mentor teammates and interns through design and code reviews, and foster a culture of rapid experimentation, spec-driven engineering, and high-velocity releases on Brownfield projects

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
