You'll develop backend Agentic AI services that make Ring's smart home ecosystem smarter, more intuitive, and more responsive. Your work will bring agentic AI capabilities onto cloud infrastructure — turning massive volumes of device signals into intelligent, context-aware actions that anticipate and serve our customers' needs, at scale. Beyond leveraging AI agents and Generative AI tools, you'll also contribute to AI-powered workflows that are reshaping how cloud services get built and operated. Backed by Amazon's world-class AI resources and infrastructure, you'll have the support to continuously explore emerging AI technologies, enhance your skills, and drive innovation in product development.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on Ring AI, you'll be a core member of the team building backend agentic AI services that power Ring's smart home experience. You'll collaborate with engineers and applied scientists across multiple countries, gaining exposure to diverse perspectives and global-scale product development. This is a unique opportunity to grow your career within a multi-national technology leader while working alongside some of the brightest minds in cloud AI and distributed systems.

The ideal candidate would be passionate about building intelligent cloud services for smart home products and eager to push the boundaries of what agentic AI can do at scale. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open, collaborative peer environment.

The ideal candidate:

- Is enthusiastic about developing and adopting AI/ML technologies and tools to enhance both product features and software development practices
- Enjoys working side by side with partners, colleagues, and teams across different countries and time zones
- Is highly effective and thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple, changing priorities
- Knows what is important when shipping products to customers and has been through the process from start to finish
- Is comfortable with proactive outward communication and technical leadership and never shies away from a challenge

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- 2+ years of systems development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Proficient in using GenAI technology (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) for software development.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Has experience of machine learning model development
- Has experience of GenAI and Agent service development using LLM/VLM.
