The Specialty Chemical/Slurry Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring code compliance and safety across new construction, retrofit projects, and the sustaining operation evaluation of existing facilities. This role provides technical oversight of site consultant design teams during facility construction and tool hookup phases, specifically focusing on the review and approval of chemical and slurry system connections and materials of construction. The Specialty Chemical/Slurry Project Engineer manages General Contractor activities for new and retrofit projects to ensure all chemical and slurry delivery systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory standards.Role and Responsibilities
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Support strategic Fab and support project planning for chemical and slurry systems, including the review and approval of "first-of-the-kind" process tool requirements and identifying critical path solutions for code and regulatory concerns.

- Provide technical guidance to contracted design teams to ensure the selection of proper materials of construction—specifically addressing chemical compatibility and slurry abrasion/sedimentation requirements—and the integrity of system connections.
- Partner with site operations and EHS teams to audit existing piping, equipment, and secondary containment systems to verify adherence to applicable codes and safety standards.
- Serve as a primary technical interface between the Construction General Contractor, Subcontractors, Consultant Design Teams, and various SAS Owner organizations.
- Identify, track, and resolve project issues during construction; document Site Observation Reports and manage construction punch lists through to final resolution.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risk points specifically related to chemical/slurry safety, hazardous material handling, and code compliance.
- Perform regular site field observation inspections to verify that installed piping, equipment, and ductwork meet design specifications and safety standards.
- Interface with stakeholders across SAS Facilities, Manufacturing, and Engineering organizations to meet aggressive project goals and timelines.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders within a customer-service oriented framework to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
