Sr. Application Architect
AI in this role
Design and deliver modern cloud-native applications on AWS while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
We are looking for a Senior Application Architect to design and deliver modern, cloud-native applications for AWS Professional Services (ProServe) India customers. In this role, you will own the technical architecture of complex customer engagements, from application assessment and modernization strategy through design, build, and production go-live. You will advise senior customer engineering leaders on how to re-architect, migrate, and modernize their application portfolios on AWS.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect with deep software engineering and IT consulting experience and a proven track record of delivering large-scale distributed applications for enterprise customers. You can work through ambiguous problems with limited guidance and make sound architectural trade-offs across cost, performance, security, and resilience. You thrive in a fast-paced, growth environment, insist on the highest standards, and enjoy mentoring engineers and turning proven patterns into reusable assets for the wider team.
You will lead technical workstreams made up of AWS consultants, partners, and customer developers, and set the architecture direction across microservices, containers, serverless, APIs, data integration, and DevOps practices. You are expected to write and review code, produce architecture artifacts, run design reviews, and resolve technical risks before they affect delivery. You will also support pre-sales by shaping solution designs and estimates, earn customer trust through technical credibility, and use AI/GenAI (including AI-assisted development tools) to speed up how applications are designed and built.
In this capacity you will be based in India and are expected to travel occasionally (30-40%). You will report into the India ProServe Application Architecture Delivery Practice Manager.

Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How do you structure and test a prompt to get consistent output from a language model?
- How do you decide that one model's output is better than another's for a given task?
- What NLP problem have you worked on, and how did you measure whether it actually worked?
- Tell me about a project where cloud architecture was part of your work. What did you do?
- Tell me about a project where software engineering was part of your work. What did you do?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Prompt Engineering, AI Evaluation, NLP, Cloud Architecture, and Software Engineering. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list — this role treats it as a required part of the job.
