The Opportunity

As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Microsoft Azure), you'll play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the stability, security, and performance of Azure-hosted services across ING's global technology landscape.

Working closely with application teams, platform stakeholders, and service owners, you'll help resolve complex incidents, optimize cloud environments, and implement improvements that strengthen service reliability and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot and resolve Azure-related incidents and production issues.
• Support the adoption of new Azure services and cloud-native capabilities.
• Perform health checks, monitoring, log analysis, and performance reviews using Azure-native tools.
• Optimize cloud environments for scalability, resiliency, security, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct technical and architecture reviews and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
• Document solutions, lessons learned, and best practices to promote knowledge sharing.
• Participate in a limited on-call rotation for critical incidents.

What You'll Bring

Required Experience

• Experience in cloud operations, Azure engineering, application support, or infrastructure support.
• Strong understanding of incident management, production support, and cloud operations.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Technical Expertise

• Microsoft Azure services and platform operations
• Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Performance monitoring and service reliability
• Cloud architecture and operational best practices
• Security, compliance, and resiliency principles
• Resource optimization and cost management
• Incident diagnosis and root-cause analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or equivalent cloud certifications.
