SR. COMMISSIONING ENGINEER - INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROLS

The Senior Commissioning Engineer (Instrumentation & Controls) is responsible for leading and coordinating the planning, execution, testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover of instrumentation and control systems for major oil and gas projects. Working closely with project teams, contractors, and operations stakeholders, the role ensures that all commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and HSE requirements.

The role provides technical leadership throughout the commissioning lifecycle, overseeing system completion, inspection, testing, preservation, verification, and performance validation activities to ensure facilities are fully operational and ready for safe and reliable service.

The Senior Commissioning Engineer leads commissioning technicians and coordinates multidisciplinary teams to deliver commissioning and start-up activities in accordance with approved engineering designs, construction schedules, and operational requirements. The role is accountable for ensuring a seamless transition from project execution to operations, supporting operational readiness while achieving project objectives for safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.

1. Minimum of 10 years in design, construction, commissioning and start-up of I&C systems of oil & gas processing and production facilities (Onshore/Offshore), preferably with EPIC contracting companies of which a minimum eight (8) years I&C Engineer. Overall experience of 15 years in Oil and Gas industry is a must.
2. Experience in operations, maintenance, projects’ pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and Hand-over activities.
3. The candidate is expected to have extensive experience in various I&C systems of offshore production and remote wellhead facilities such as Field Instrumentation of all process parameters, Integrated Control & Safety Systems (DCS, SIS & FGS), Remote WHJ Telemetry Systems, Fibre Optic Communications Systems, MPFMs, F&G devices and systems, Firefighting systems, Functional Safety Requirements (SIL assessment/verification, LOPA, etc.), Cybersecurity requirements/tests, C&E configuration and testing, ESD testing, Functional Testing of Control/Safeguarding system, etc.
4. Hands-on experience in Completions Management System.
5. Experience in witnessing or conducting FAT, SAT of I&C equipment and its performance test.
6. Familiarity with risk management (HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS).
7. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
8. Relevant technical expertise. Multi-discipline engineering exposure with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
9. Strong leadership, communication, and contractor management skills.
10. Good IT and analytical skills with the ability to work well under pressure.

1. Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electronics and Communication/Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
2. Chartered Engineer status is preferable.
3. Offshore survival (BOSIET/FOET + CA-EBS) (preferred).
