We are seeking a seasoned Senior Migration and Modernization Solutions Architect to join our ASEAN team, based in Singapore. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise migration & transformation, modern cloud architecture, and the rapidly evolving world of AI-driven workload modernization.

As a senior member of the ASEAN Migrations and Modernization SA team, you will lead enterprise customers through the full spectrum of transformation — from migrating legacy estates to AWS, to modernizing applications and architectures to become AI-ready, and ultimately enabling agentic AI deployments that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will advise on both dimensions of AI-era modernization: using AI to accelerate and automate migration and modernization programs at scale, and modernizing architectures so they are structurally capable of running and benefiting from AI and Agentic AI workloads.

You will work across the breadth of enterprise legacy environments - monolithic applications, commercial databases, VMware estates, and aging on-premises infrastructure — defining transformation pathways that are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned to each customer's AI ambitions. You will collaborate closely with Migration and Modernization business development teams, partner development managers, and customer solution managers to drive revenue through successful migrations and modernizations across the region.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on architecture experience with a genuine passion for the emerging AI and agentic AI landscape. They understand that every modernization decision today is an AI enablement decision — and they are able to articulate this clearly to both technical and executive audiences. Strong judgment, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to operate effectively across diverse enterprise cultures in ASEAN are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities
Migration Leadership
- Lead end-to-end cloud migration strategies for enterprise customers across ASEAN with hands-on technical depth — covering infrastructure, applications, databases, mainframes, and legacy on-premises estates — evaluating both technical feasibility and commercial viability of each program to drive successful outcomes on AWS.
- Build repeatable migration mechanisms, reference architectures, playbooks, and toolkits that systematically reduce time, cost, risk, and complexity for future engagements across the region.
- Drive deep adoption of AWS-native migration tooling — including AWS Transform (ATX), cloud assessment platforms, and agentic discovery tools including ISV tools — with the technical credibility to guide customers through real implementation challenges, compressing migration timelines from months to wee.
- Work with customers navigating complex multi-tower transformations: legacy application modernization, commercial software-to-open-source transitions, VMware exits, and large-scale data center consolidations.

Modernization and AI-Ready Architecture
- Design and deliver modernization architectures that move customers from monolithic, tightly coupled systems to decoupled, cloud-native, microservices-based architectures that are structurally ready for AI and Agentic AI workloads.
- Advise customers on the right modernization pathway for each workload — rehosting, replatforming, re-architecting, containerization, open-source migration, or managed database adoption — based on business value, complexity, and AI readiness impact.
- Articulate why every modernization decision is an AI enablement decision — helping customers understand that architecture choices made today directly determine what AI capabilities they can unlock tomorrow.
- Guide customers in building agentic-ready foundations: decoupled services, clean API and MCP interfaces, isolated data domains, independent deployment pipelines, and observable systems that support reliable autonomous AI agent operation.
- Identify and address AI-on-legacy failure patterns — context overload, hallucination risk, cascading failures, and latency amplification — that emerge when Agentic AI is deployed on unmodernized infrastructure, and define the modernization path that resolves them.

AI-Driven Modernization Delivery
- Champion the use of AI-powered tooling to execute migration and modernization programs — leveraging AWS Transform (ATX) for code transformation, automated dependency analysis, containerization, and continuous modernization at scale.
- Apply agentic assessment capabilities — including AI-driven discovery, automated portfolio analysis, and intelligent workload classification — to significantly compress the assessment and planning phases of enterprise transformation programs.
- Lead adoption of emerging standards and tooling in the agentic ecosystem — MCP, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, multi-agent orchestration patterns, and the Strands Agents SDK — as practical technical foundations for customer AI transformation programs.
- Help customers build and validate their Agentic AI Readiness posture, assessing current architecture across agent platform maturity, data and knowledge infrastructure, and operational governance.

Customer Engagement and Technical Advisory
- Customer Engagement and Technical Advisory
- Build trusted advisor relationships with CTO, CIO, and enterprise architect stakeholders — credible on both migration strategy and AI transformation roadmap.
- Lead hands-on discovery workshops, accelerator deliveries, architecture envisioning sessions, and multi-day modernization assessments; translate findings into prioritized transformation roadmaps with clear risk profiles and milestones.
- Articulate ROI, TCO, and business value to executive audiences; connect modernization investment directly to AI capability and competitive agility outcomes.
- Drive POCs through to completion and use outcomes to de-risk and accelerate broader program commitments.

Community, Enablement and Thought Leadership
- Capture and share best practices across the SA community; contribute to whitepapers, playbooks, and customer-facing guidance on migration, modernization, and AI-ready architecture.
- Develop and deliver workshops and enablement content for customers, partners, and internal teams — focused on agentic AI architecture patterns and AI-driven modernization tooling.
- Provide structured customer feedback to AWS product and engineering teams to influence the AWS Transform and migration toolset roadmap.
- Collaborate across AWS — services, marketing, professional services, partner development — to co-create GTM motions that accelerate customer transformation journeys.

Basic qualifications

- 10+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Demonstrated experience leading architecture for large-scale public cloud migrations (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including multi-tower transformations programs.
- Hands-on experience with legacy application environments: monolithic architectures, mainframe systems, commercial databases, and aging on-premises infrastructure — and the modernization patterns that transform them.
- Broad architecture knowledge across: cloud migration, microservices, containers, serverless, relational and NoSQL databases, data engineering, networking, security, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native infrastructure, experience with AI and Agentic AI concepts in an enterprise architecture context: multi-agent systems, LLM application patterns, retrieval-augmented generation, MCP-based integrations, and the infrastructure requirements for reliable autonomous AI operation.

Preferred qualifications

- AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification, or Cloud Technology Certification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field, with 10+ years of experience architecting and delivering complex solutions for enterprise customers, including large-scale data center transformation and application migration programs.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Transform (ATX), or equivalent AI-driven modernization and migration acceleration platforms and tooling including ISV solutions for Migrations and Modernizations.
- Enterprise architecture background with demonstrated ability to build and articulate cloud-native and AI-ready technology roadmaps for large organizations.
- Experience operating across diverse ASEAN enterprise markets — with cultural sensitivity and adaptability, international enterprise customer experience with F500 organizations and global systems integrators or consulting partners.
