Job Description
Overview:
Corporate Reliability Engineering is advancing an engineering-first model focused on reliability, automation, quality, security, and proactive operations. This hands-on I5 role will work directly with Core Infrastructure, Oracle Database, Network, Security, and adjacent engineering and operations teams to design, build, test, deploy, and support secure AI, agentic automation, API, and reliability solutions across enterprise Windows, Linux/Unix, Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), and Network environments.
The engineer will convert recurring operational issues into maintainable, auditable, and production-ready solutions that reduce manual effort, accelerate diagnosis and resolution, strengthen service resilience, and deliver measurable operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver AI/ML applications, LLM-enabled solutions, RAG, agentic workflows, automation frameworks, APIs, integrations, and reusable engineering components.
- Build intelligent capabilities for incident triage, knowledge retrieval, service-health analysis, root-cause investigation, remediation recommendations, and approved automated execution.
- Automate workflows across Windows, Linux/Unix, Oracle Database/EBS, and Network operations through scripting, orchestration, event-driven patterns, and secure API integrations.
- Integrate with approved enterprise ticketing, monitoring, CMDB, knowledge, database, collaboration, source-control, and deployment platforms
- Engineer for reliability through testing, exception handling, rollback, observability, telemetry, runbooks, support models, operational handoff, and measurable service outcomes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, architecture, operations, and product teams and communicate technical decisions, risks, controls, and outcomes clearly
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Professional Attributes:
- Work as an embedded engineering partner with Core Infrastructure, Oracle Database, Network, Security, and Reliability Engineering teams to understand operational needs and deliver practical, supportable solutions.
- Build trusted relationships with subject matter experts, product owners, operations teams, and global stakeholders; actively listen, incorporate feedback, and align teams around shared outcomes.
- Demonstrate a team-first mindset by sharing knowledge, documenting solutions, mentoring peers, supporting collective problem-solving, and contributing to a respectful and inclusive engineering culture.
- Combine strong technical depth with professionalism, humility, adaptability, accountability, and sound judgment when leading discussions or responding to operational challenges.
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, design choices, and business impacts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Operate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment and balance speed, reliability, security, governance, teamwork, and customer impact.
Visa Governance, Security & Responsible AI Expectations:
- Follow Visa policies, Key Controls, Technical and Design Security Requirements, approved architecture standards, and the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) throughout design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Apply secure coding and participate in code review, security assessment, dependency and open-source review, vulnerability remediation, security testing, and required release approvals before production promotion.
- Protect Visa information according to its classification and approved handling requirements. Use approved platforms and data sources, enforce least-privilege access, protect credentials and secrets, and prevent unauthorized disclosure, modification, retention, or transmission.
- Implement traceability through authenticated access, change records, version control, event logging, monitoring, evidence retention, documented ownership, and support procedures.
- Apply Visa AI governance requirements across the lifecycle, including defined ownership, risk assessment, data-use review, validation, ongoing monitoring, documented limitations, escalation paths, and controlled retirement or material change.
- Design human oversight and approval gates appropriate to risk. Automated actions must remain within approved permissions and guardrails, with safe failure handling, rollback, and manual intervention paths.
- Validate generative and agentic AI solutions for quality, reliability, security, privacy, information integrity, and operational risk; document evaluation methods, acceptance criteria, evidence, limitations, and monitoring.
- Escalate security incidents, privacy concerns, control gaps, model risks, unexpected AI behavior, and policy exceptions through approved Visa processes.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How do you structure and test a prompt to get consistent output from a language model?
- How would you design a retrieval step so the model answers from real data instead of guessing?
- How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
- How do you think about the risk of an AI system in this kind of role failing silently?
- Tell me about a project where artificial intelligence was part of your work. What did you do?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, AI Safety, and Artificial Intelligence. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Lead with what you built, trained or shipped. This role is judged on the AI system itself, not the tools around it.
