Amazon is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that has a meaningful and measurable impact on Amazon’s success. At Amazon, our vision is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our passion for invention leads us to pioneer and globalize new businesses and customer offerings daily. As we rapidly become the world’s largest consumer of services in many categories, the Corporate Procurement team is fueling our explosive growth by identifying innovative sourcing strategies and negotiating sustainable, long-term partnerships. We are seeking a skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager with experience leading complex sourcing initiatives across Employee Services.

Key leadership traits required include the ability to influence and form partnerships with business leaders, and operational excellence in managing multiple complex and competing priorities simultaneously. Strategic Sourcing Managers are expert practitioners in the tools for creating competitive environments and have a bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics. They routinely influence vendor relationships by advising Amazon leaders across multiple stakeholder groups on the direction of sourcing projects in support of business goals. If you are looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company, come make history with Amazon’s Global Corporate Procurement department.

At Amazon, we believe that in-person collaboration is essential to our culture and innovation. While we allow flexibility for personal circumstances, we generally expect employees to work from our offices five days a week. This approach has consistently shown that spontaneous interactions, rapid problem-solving, and the energy of in-person teamwork led to better results for our customers. Our data shows that teams working together in person are more effective at making complex decisions, onboarding new team members, and fostering the kind of creative collaboration that has driven Amazon's success. The serendipitous hallway conversations and impromptu whiteboarding sessions that happen naturally in an office environment have proven invaluable to our invention process and maintaining our high bar for excellence.

Key job responsibilities
- Establishing strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; building a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories
- Dive deep across multiple business units to leverage our supplier base with the goal of optimizing performance, quality, and cost
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking; leveraging key-insights to inform and support the strategic sourcing strategy development process

- Identifying sourcing opportunities by leveraging spend analysis tools and engage with stakeholders to consolidate requirements over categories, suppliers and geographies

A day in the life
Your morning might start with a cross-functional alignment call for an upcoming RFP involving three business units, followed by analyzing bid responses and building a recommendation deck for senior leadership. After lunch, you're on a negotiation call with a strategic supplier's C-suite to finalize contract terms, then pivoting to a spend review with Finance to validate savings actuals against targets. You'll close the day by coaching a business partner through the supplier evaluation framework for an upcoming engagement. No two days look the same — you'll balance long-range strategic planning with hands-on execution, often managing five or more active sourcing engagements simultaneously across different stages of the lifecycle.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Vendor Management, and Data Analytics. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
