Key job responsibilities
- You will design, build, and operate tools and AI-powered deployment safety services used by network engineers across thousands of Amazon fulfillment centers globally.
- You will partner with Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Product Managers to translate real operational pain points into intuitive, scalable self-service solutions.
- You will contribute to a diverse product portfolio and owning features end-to-end from design through production.
- You will mentor peers, participate in design reviews, and drive operational excellence through monitoring, runbooks, and continuous improvement of on-call practices.

About the team
Deployment Engine owns the services that execute network changes on devices. Orchestration decides what is deployed and in what order; Deployment Engine safely carries out each change on the device and provides engineers with direct device access across all Amazon FC globally at Amazon Scale.
Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools, such as: AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic and Splunk
- Experience with a systems language such as C, C++, or Rust for on-device or performance-critical software.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
