About the role
We are looking for a Systems & Validation Engineer to make sure the software we deploy in production vehicles is well-defined, traceable and thoroughly validated. You will sit between customers, software engineers and vehicle test teams. You will turn customer and vehicle-level needs into clear system requirements, define the architecture and interfaces for Vehicle OS integrations, and own the strategy for validating them across SIL, HIL and vehicle setups. The work spans multiple vehicle domains and involves close collaboration with customers in Japan and engineering teams both in the US and Japan.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Work directly with customers to capture, analyze and break down system and software requirements for Vehicle OS integrations
Define system architecture, interfaces and signal/service specifications across ECUs and vehicle domains
Maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements through design, implementation and test
Develop test strategies, test plans and test cases for SIL, HIL and in-vehicle validation
Build and maintain test automation and integrate it into CI/CD pipelines
Run and coordinate validation campaigns on benches and vehicles, triage issues, and drive root-cause analysis with software teams
Track validation coverage and readiness to hit SoP milestones
Support process compliance activities (e.g. ASPICE, ISO 26262) together with customers and internal teams
Set up an integration and validation workflow that works across Japan and US time zones
We're looking for someone who has:
BSc or MSc in electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or a related field
5+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, verification or validation
Experience with requirements engineering and the V-model development process
Hands-on experience with HIL/SIL environments and automotive test tools (e.g. Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, dSPACE, ETAS or similar)
Strong understanding of in-vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP) and diagnostics (UDS, DoIP)
Fluency in both English and Japanese (written and verbal), with the ability to operate effectively in a bilingual business environment
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Classic AUTOSAR and/or Adaptive AUTOSAR architectures
Experience with requirements and test management tools (e.g. Polarion, codebeamer, DOORS, Jira/Xray)
Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262 functional safety or ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity
Experience with model-based systems engineering (SysML, Enterprise Architect, Cameo)
Experience working directly with OEM or Tier 1 customers
Experience with in-vehicle testing and data logging/analysis tools
Benefits and Perks:
Lunch and dinner allowance
Equity (RSU) offering
English / Japanese language allowance
Company sponsored housing program

Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Systems Engineering, Requirements Analysis, Vehicle Os, Sil, and Hil. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project — this role expects it to be a running habit.
