Technical Product Manager - Sonar
AI in this role
Lead product management for Sonar, scaling data utility infrastructure into secure AI agent commerce capabilities.
Who we are:
Sardine is the leading agentic risk platform for fighting financial crime. Our integrated solution unifies data across risk teams to help organizations stop fraud in real time, prevent AI-driven attacks, and automate fraud and AML operations. Sardine’s platform is strengthened by one of the fastest-growing fraud consortiums in the market, spanning more than 6 billion profiled devices, 800 million consumers, and 3 million businesses worldwide. Leading companies including FIS, GoDaddy, Intuit, Edward Jones, ZoomInfo, and Checkout.com rely on Sardine to secure and grow trust in their products.
Our culture:
We hire talented, self-motivated individuals with extreme ownership and high growth orientation.
We value performance and not hours worked. We believe you shouldn't have to miss your family dinner, your kid's school play, friends get-together, or doctor's appointments for the sake of adhering to an arbitrary work schedule.
We're a remote-first team spread across time zones, so no office to report to - work from wherever helps you do your best work. Just a couple of things to keep in mind: pay is based on where you're located, and you'll need to keep a home base in the country you're hired in. So while we love the "coffee shop today, mountains tomorrow" life, this isn't a passport-optional, work-from-anywhere-on-Earth kind of remote - think flexible within your country, not borderless.

About the role
Sonar is scaling from an industry data utility to critical AI infrastructure for agentic commerce. You will own that product and take it from where it is today to where agents and institutions need it to be.
This is a high-autonomy role for a technically fluent PM. You are comfortable with API design and the infrastructure behind AI agents, and you can work with counsel on what a regulated data-sharing network is allowed to do.
What you'll be doing
Own the Sonar roadmap and build the infrastructure layers that make it core to how institutions and their agents fight financial crime:
Collaboration: Secure, governed channels for institutions to work together on suspected financial crime.
Identity and trust: verified, scoped, and auditable access for institutions and their agents that use Sonar.
Investigation: governed intelligence that connects related entities across institutions.
Distribution: making Sonar available wherever institutions and their agents do their work.
Write and maintain technical specifications, integration playbooks, and documentation for member and partner integrations.
Turn 314(b), GLBA, FCRA, and BSA constraints into product requirements, including purpose limitation, data handling, and audit. Work directly with Legal on implementation questions.
Partner with Engineering on the data and platform architecture that lets Sonar scale.
Work with fraud, AML, and investigations teams at member institutions to understand how analysts work together today.
Define and track success metrics: member adoption, inquiry volume and response rates, time to answer, and quality of agent usage.
Work with BD, Sales, and Partnerships to bring new institutions and platform partners onto Sonar.
What you'll need
6+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years in payment networks, fintech, financial crime, identity, or data platform products
Experience shipping APIs or developer-facing products, with fluency in authentication, scoped credentials, and audit logging
Hands-on experience with AI agents and the infrastructure that supports them
Working knowledge of financial crime, including fraud, AML, and investigation workflows
Experience building within regulatory constraints on data use. Familiarity with 314(b), GLBA, or FCRA is ideal.
Strong analytical skills and comfort querying data to inform decisions
Clear written specs and the ability to communicate with engineers, lawyers, and bank executives
Bonus
Experience with consortium, data cooperative, or information-sharing products
Background in entity resolution or graph-based investigation
Prior time at a bank, a payments network, or a compliance technology vendor
Benefits we offer:
Generous compensation in cash and equity
Early exercise for all options, including pre-vested

Questions you could be asked
- How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
- Tell me about a project where product management was part of your work. What did you do?
- Tell me about a project where api design was part of your work. What did you do?
- Tell me about a project where fraud prevention was part of your work. What did you do?
- Tell me about a project where identity management was part of your work. What did you do?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents, Product Management, API Design, Fraud Prevention, and Identity Management. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project — this role expects it to be a running habit.
