AI in this role
About Cadre AI
Cadre AI is an AI strategy and integration firm that builds production AI systems for B2B companies in private equity, wholesale lending, real estate, and SaaS. We do not build decks about what AI could do. We ship systems that move revenue, compress costs, and automate the work that used to take entire teams.
The Role
You will own how work enters and moves through Cadre AI. Every incoming client project passes through technical program management, and you are the person who helps facilitate its scoping, sequences it, and plans the capacity to deliver it. When intake is sharp, projects ship on time and nothing slips through the cracks. When it is not, everything downstream suffers. This role keeps that engine precise as the company runs past 25 concurrent projects.
Day to day, you move between capacity planning across the portfolio, hands-on automation of the operational and management layer, and working with the engineering team and product to identify and remove technical blockers. You are comfortable reading an unfamiliar codebase, wiring an integration, and then stepping back to run a stakeholder conversation about scope and timeline. You thrive on turning repetitive management work into systems: reporting that generates itself, intake that routes itself, and dashboards that surface risk before it becomes a fire.
You will partner closely with engineering leadership and product, and manage the external contractors who deliver across engagements, working across Python and TypeScript stacks, MCP servers, and agent workflows. This is a program leadership role with broad technical range, not a coordination seat. You are expected to build, not just track.
What You'll Do
Project Intake and Capacity Planning
- Own the intake pipeline for every incoming client project: help facilitate scoping, break the work into deliverable phases, and shape it into a clear plan.
- Forecast capacity across 25+ concurrent engagements, balancing engineer load, timelines, and dependencies so commitments stay realistic.
- Track delivery signals across the portfolio and escalate risk early, before timelines slip.
- Translate ambiguous client requests into clear, buildable technical scope in partnership with engineering leadership.
Management-Layer Automation
- Build automations that replace manual operational work: intake routing, status reporting, capacity snapshots, and delivery-health dashboards.
- Design and ship agent workflows and MCP-based integrations that connect Cadre's internal tools (ClickUp, Slack, GitHub) into a single control surface.
- Instrument the management layer with metrics and alerting so problems surface automatically instead of in weekly reviews.
- Own these systems end to end: development, deployment, and reliability.
Technical Program Leadership
- Manage the external contractors who deliver across engagements, keeping delivery on track and holding them to Cadre's development and integration standards.
- Work with the engineering team and product to identify and remove technical blockers across the portfolio.
- Set integration and delivery standards that engineers and contractors build on, keeping quality consistent as project volume grows.
- Read unfamiliar codebases quickly and go hands-on when a project needs a technical push.
- Maintain a clear, queryable picture of project health and risk for leadership.
Stakeholder and Delivery Management
- Run scope, timeline, and expectation conversations with clients and internal stakeholders across multiple concurrent engagements.
- Keep structured documentation and workflows in ClickUp so every project has a single source of truth.
- Coordinate across distributed teams and external contractors to keep dependencies aligned and handoffs clean.
What You Need to Succeed
- Deep expertise across software engineering, platform and integrations work, or technical program management, with a track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder projects from scope to delivery.
- Deep, hands-on technical expertise in Python and TypeScript stacks (Node.js and modern backend frameworks), enough to read unfamiliar code, wire integrations, and make architecture calls, not just coordinate the people who do.
- Proven experience integrating third-party APIs into reliable, event-driven pipelines, including webhooks, REST, and queue-based systems.
- Fluency with LLM integration, MCP servers, and agent workflows, or the demonstrated ability to pick them up fast, since automating Cadre's management layer runs on exactly these tools.
- Strong capacity-planning and program-management instincts: you can forecast load across many concurrent projects and keep commitments realistic.
- Experience with production observability and triage (Datadog, CloudWatch, Sentry, or similar), because the systems you build have to stay up.
- Proficiency with ClickUp or comparable project-management tooling, and a compulsion for structured workflows, clear documentation, and clean execution across many engagements at once.
- Excellent stakeholder management and consultative communication, with real experience running scope and timeline conversations with clients and technical teams, and holding external contractors to committed delivery.
- A builder's bias: you would rather automate a recurring task than do it manually a fifth time.
- Comfort working remotely across a distributed team spanning the US and Colombia, with strong written communication in English.
Why Cadre AI
- Real ownership. You own how work enters and moves through the entire company, not a single project.
- Build the systems that run the company. The automations you ship become the operating layer every pod depends on.
- AI-native culture. We do not just build AI for clients. We use it to run our own operations. You will work with people who are as obsessed with the tools as you are.
- Access to the frontier. Through partnerships with Anthropic, OpenAI, and YC, you will be among the first to experiment with new models and capabilities.
- Upside. We are bootstrapped, profitable, and growing fast. Early team members share in the success they help create.
- No bureaucracy. Small pods. Clear accountability. The best idea wins, regardless of who says it.
If you are the kind of engineer who sees a messy intake process and immediately wants to automate it, and who can hold both the technical and the program view at once, this role was built for you. Come own the engine that keeps Cadre shipping.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $3,000 – $4,000 per month. How we rate this

Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How have you integrated a large language model into a production application?
- Walk me through how you've used OpenAI in your day-to-day work.
- What are the limits of Anthropic that you've run into, and how did you work around them?
- Describe a typical day in a role like this one: which parts run through AI directly?
- If you removed AI from this role, what would be left, and how do you decide what still needs a human?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: LLM Integration, OpenAI, and Anthropic. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
