The Technical Program Manager (TPM), Technology Integration & Support is responsible for the end-to-end onboarding, integration, and deployment of automation vendor technologies (AGVs, AMRs, autonomous floor care, etc.) across Amazon's fulfillment and sortation network. This role serves as the primary technical liaison between external vendors and internal Amazon stakeholders — ensuring that all vendor technologies meet Amazon's network, security, and compliance standards before deployment.

Key job responsibilities
Vendor Technology Onboarding (40%)
• Own the full lifecycle of vendor IT onboarding for AGV/AMR and automation technologies — from initial kick-off through production deployment
• Conduct technical kick-off meetings with vendor engineering teams to review Amazon IT requirements (network architecture, security, IoT device standards)
• Guide vendors through Amazon's onboarding documentation process: network diagrams, IT overview questionnaires, data element inventories, and wireless device assessment forms
• Manage 4–5 concurrent vendor onboarding projects at steady state; scale to 10+ during peak periods
• Track onboarding status across all active vendors using Asana and/or SmartSheet dashboards
Network Architecture & Configuration (20%)
• Review and approve vendor network diagrams for compliance with Amazon network standards
• Configure VLANs, assign static IPs, generate PPSKs (pre-shared keys) for WiFi 802.11ax connectivity
• Coordinate ACL port configurations and firewall rule deployments with local IT and network engineering teams
• Validate that vendor IoT devices operate within approved frequency bands, protocols, and power levels
Security & Compliance (15%)
• Manage Third-Party Security (TPS) assessments with Amazon InfoSec — submit tickets, gather vendor responses, track remediation
• Author and submit ANOW (Access Network Operations Workflow) requests for vendor network access
• Coordinate IoT device certification through Amazon's hardware qualification pipeline
• Ensure vendor technologies meet mTLS, SSO, and SiteConnect/VPN requirements before go-live
Technical Assessments & Documentation (10%)
• Author formal Vendor Technical Assessment reports evaluating integration risk, network impact, and deployment readiness
• Document conditional approvals, pilot constraints, and scaling requirements for each technology
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base of approved devices, network configurations, and onboarding playbooks
Infrastructure Deployment Coordination (10%)
• Coordinate physical infrastructure work with general contractors (GCs) — network rack installation, LVC/power cabling, IPC housing, fire alarm panel integration
• Develop and distribute BOMs (Bills of Materials) for site-level technology deployments
• Establish and run weekly coordination meetings for multi-site rollouts
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management (5%)
• Serve as the single-threaded owner for vendor IT integration across legal, category management, IT security, safety, demand intake, and local IT teams
• Manage escalations from site teams, EU/international stakeholders, and Amazon leadership
• Provide regular status updates to program leadership on vendor onboarding pipeline health

A day in the life
A Day in the Life
Every day as a Technical Program Manager on the Technology Integration & Support team brings a dynamic mix of technical problem-solving, vendor collaboration, and cross-functional coordination. Here’s what a typical day looks like:
You start your morning by reviewing your Asana and Taskei dashboards to check the status of 4–5 active vendor onboarding projects. You flag any blockers — maybe a vendor’s network diagram needs revisions before it can be approved, or a Third-Party Security (TPS) assessment is awaiting InfoSec feedback. You prioritize your day around what will keep these projects moving forward.
By mid-morning, you’re leading a technical kick-off call with a new AGV vendor’s engineering team. You walk them through Amazon’s IT requirements — network standards, security protocols, IoT device certification — and outline the onboarding documentation they’ll need to complete. You answer their questions about VLAN configurations, WiFi 802.11ax connectivity, and mTLS requirements, translating Amazon’s standards into actionable steps for the vendor.
After lunch, you shift into hands-on technical work. You review a vendor’s submitted network diagram for compliance, configure VLAN assignments and static IPs for an upcoming pilot site, and generate PPSKs for wireless device connectivity. You coordinate with the local IT team on ACL port configurations and firewall rules that need to be deployed before the vendor’s equipment arrives on-site.
In the afternoon, you join a weekly coordination meeting for a multi-site robotics rollout. You provide updates on the technology integration workstream, review the Bill of Materials for the next site, and align with general contractors on network rack installation timelines. After the meeting, you draft a Vendor Technical Assessment report evaluating a new automation technology’s integration risk, network impact, and deployment readiness.
Throughout the day, you’re the single-threaded owner connecting the dots between vendors, site teams, IT security, legal, and program leadership. You might field an escalation from a European site team about a connectivity issue, submit an ANOW request for vendor network access, or update leadership on the health of your vendor onboarding pipeline. No two days are exactly the same, but every day centers on making sure the right technology gets integrated safely, securely, and on schedule.

About the team
The GESA Development Engineering Automation Team is here to help provide Automated Solutions for projects ranging from AGV Tugger Systems and Floor Cleaning AMRs to Automated Turret Trucks and beyond. Our team is responsible for standardizing and qualifying Automated Vehicle Systems for use within Amazon Facilities, both retrofitted Automation Packages as well as Green Field Designs for future Facility Generations.

Basic qualifications

- 2+ years of technical program management experience
- 2+ years of work in large-scale networking environments experience
- Knowledge of project management tools and software
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, or other related discipline
- • Experience managing external vendor relationships in a technical capacity

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in quality assurance/testing/mobile industry/internet of things (IoT)
- Experience in one or more of the following: application security frameworks, security code reviews, incident response, security infrastructure, penetration testing, mobile security, cloud security, AI security, identity and access controls
- Experience in automation or monitoring frameworks, deployment or development
- Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, storage, network, security, database administration and cloud infrastructure
- Experience working in fulfillment center, warehouse, or industrial automation environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
