VC Analyst
AI in this role
VC Analyst to open relationships with direct investors and source opportunities, with an explicit requirement to use AI tools daily.
We are hiring a VC Analyst to open relationships with investors who back private companies directly, and to put the right opportunities in front of them.
Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We screen deal flow very tightly, and the opportunities that clear our diligence go out to the network. We invest alongside them too.
THE ROLE
This role sits on the investor side of Pairs. You find investors who are active right now, learn what each of them backs, and introduce them to opportunities that fit.
Most of the work is first contact done well. You write to family offices, angels and early-stage funds in a way that earns a reply, turn those replies into calls, and book the right investors into meetings with founders.
We are not raising a fund. Our investors invest directly in companies, so the work is about direct investors, not fund LPs.
Our platform handles the pipeline, research and follow-up. Your time goes to the conversations, and to learning which investors are ready to commit capital.
You will work directly with the two co-founders and our investor team, on a process that already works. The organisation is flat, so you will see first-hand how we screen opportunities, what we decline and why.
This is an early-career role. Drive and judgement matter more to us than years in a seat.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Investor research. Who is investing right now, in what, at what stage and check size.
First conversations. Messages that read like a person wrote them, and replies turned into calls.
Investor meetings. Qualified investors booked with founders whose opportunity fits what they back.
Your growing network. Every investor you open, kept current and qualified. The network you build here is yours.
YOU ARE A FIT IF YOU
Have worked around venture capital, as an analyst, a scout, at an accelerator or in a role close to deals, and can name rounds from this year you found interesting.
Can write a short, specific message to a stranger that gets a reply.
Keep your pace high without letting quality slip, and follow a process without needing a reminder.
Understand the basics of a round: stage, check size, SAFE versus priced, and why an investor passes.
Treat discretion as second nature. Please do not include any investor names in your application.
Use AI tools daily, with clear judgement about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.
WHAT WE OFFER
A fully remote, asynchronous role
Direct access to the co-founders and our investor team
Close collaboration with our internal team
Live mandates from your first week, and access to the opportunities that clear our diligence
Insight into our internal processes, including how we screen deal flow
Room to grow into a senior investor-side role as your network grows
A base salary plus commission

Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Venture Capital, Investor Relations, Deal Sourcing, Networking, and Communication. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list — this role treats it as a required part of the job.
