Lead warehouse automation roadmaps and engineering solutions, leveraging generative AI tools to optimize material handling designs.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and standardize automation prototypes for conveyors, lifts, and other MHE, managing the full lifecycle from concept engineering through implementation and performance qualification.
- Build and own the automation roadmap by researching new technologies, benchmarking industry best practices, and evaluating alternative solutions that balance quality, cost, and operational impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders — including Safety, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Finance — to develop material flow layouts and engineering specifications for new and existing facilities.
- Lead vendor qualification, development, and management activities including preparation of Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and scopes of work, while driving techno-commercial discussions with procurement and project teams.
- Leverage generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools and data-driven analysis to identify process improvements, optimize designs, and accelerate solution development cycles.
A day in the life
You will start your week reviewing progress in business review forums, aligning priorities against the automation roadmap, and adjusting plans based on operational feedback.
