Account Executive (Enterprise) at deepset scores 65 out of 100 on AI centrality, which makes it AI Level 3 of 4 (Works on AI) on this board. The level measures how much of the work is AI, not seniority.
AI in this role
TL;DR
As an Account Executive (Enterprise), you'll own the full enterprise sales cycle from outbound and technical discovery to demo, evaluation, and close, engaging AI engineers and architects as a technical peer while driving commercial outcomes with CFOs and procurement. We're a Series B company building our enterprise sales playbook as we go. You'll help us write it.
Why deepset
At deepset, we’re on a mission to make custom AI solutions accessible to every organization. With Haystack, thousands of developers build advanced LLM applications every day, while our enterprise-ready AI Platform helps companies turn large language models into business value. We’re remote-first, flexible, and built on a culture of trust and ownership. You’ll collaborate with top-tier tech talent, tackle meaningful challenges, and help transform complex AI into solutions that are simple, powerful, and ready for the real world.
What you will do
Own the full sales cycle: outbound, discovery, technical demo, evaluation, and close, partnering with our Value Engineer
Manage a pipeline of enterprise accounts and hit quarterly ACV targets (€50K–€500K+ deals, land-and-expand)
Run technical sales conversations on agent and RAG architectures, retrieval, evaluation, and pipeline orchestration, and handle security and compliance questions directly (SOC 2, EU AI Act, on-prem/VPC)
Build multi-threaded relationships from AI engineers to economic buyers, translating technical wins into business cases for CFOs and procurement
Negotiate enterprise contracts — security reviews, DPAs, custom MSAs — without losing deal velocity
Help build the enterprise GTM motion: feed market signal back to product and marketing, and turn Haystack's open-source community into pipeline
What you bring to the team
You can run a Haystack pipeline well enough to establish credibility in the first conversation
You've closed enterprise software deals above €100K ACV and can push a deal without burning the relationship
You can talk architecture with a senior AI engineer and ROI with a CFO in the same week
You've operated in a Series A/B environment and treat ambiguity as leverage. We're writing the sales playbook, and you'll help
Nice to have
Solutions Engineer background, or an engineer who moved into sales
Experience selling developer tooling, data infrastructure, or AI/ML platforms to engineering and platform teams
Experience with enterprise security reviews for AI or data products
Experience converting open-source users into enterprise customers

Prepare for this job
A free preview built only from this posting: what it asks for, what you could be asked in an interview, and how to adjust your resume.
Skills and AI tools this role asks for
Questions you could be asked
- How would you design a retrieval step so the model answers from real data instead of guessing?
- Walk me through how you've used Haystack in your day-to-day work.
- Describe a typical day in a role like this one: which parts run through AI directly?
- If you removed AI from this role, what would be left, and how do you decide what still needs a human?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: Rag and Haystack. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them — a tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project — this role expects it to be a running habit.
