About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

We’re looking for strategic and passionate Account Executives to join our Canberra-based Public Sector team, leading the charge in bringing the next generation of technology solutions to federal government agencies across Australia.

As an Account Executive, you will engage with stakeholders across federal agencies, including Defence, Home Affairs, Health, Justice, Finance, and other government departments and statutory bodies. You’ll work across Salesforce’s ecosystem, collaborating with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that drive customer success and organisational impact.

As trusted advisors, you will own the full sales cycle, guiding agencies in their digital transformation journeys. You'll help them leverage Salesforce solutions to enhance efficiency, modernise processes, and deliver better outcomes for citizens. This involves understanding the public sector landscape, navigating procurement cycles, and showing the strategic value of integrating Salesforce technology stack.

About the role

  • Drive adoption of Salesforce solutions across federal public sector agencies, supporting digital transformation initiatives.

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities, identifying and engaging potential clients across government departments and statutory bodies.

  • Manage complex sales cycles from prospecting to close, with a consultative and value-based approach.

  • Partner with Solution Engineers, Industry Specialists, Customer Success teams, and strategic partners to co-create tailored solutions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across federal agencies.

  • Understand policy, compliance, procurement, and security requirements relevant to the public sector.

  • Stay ahead of market trends, particularly how technology, AI, and automation are shaping public sector operations.

  • Represent Salesforce at industry events, roundtables, and stakeholder engagements.

About You

  • Proven success as an Account Executive or similar sales role in SaaS, enterprise technology, or complex B2B environments.

  • Experience selling into the public sector and/or strong knowledge of government processes and buying cycles.

  • Recognised as a trusted advisor with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with solution engineers, product teams, customer success, and partners.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to engage stakeholders across IT, operations, and executive levels.

  • A collaborative, high-integrity approach to sales with a team-driven mindset.

What’s in it for you

  • Join a global leader consistently ranked among the best places to work.

  • Do work that matters, with real-world impact on public policy, transparency, and service delivery.

  • Volunteer Opportunities: Seven paid volunteer days annually and donation matching for approved charitable contributions.

  • Comprehensive Insurance: Health, Life, Trauma, and Income Protection Insurance.

  • Wellness Allowance: A monthly allowance to support your wellbeing.

  • Flexible Leave Policies: Including parental leave and flexible time-off arrangements.

  • Perks and Discounts: Access to exclusive discounts and additional employee benefits.

Questions you could be asked

  1. How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
  2. Tell me about a project where sales was part of your work. What did you do?
  3. Tell me about a project where account management was part of your work. What did you do?
  4. Tell me about a project where b2b sales was part of your work. What did you do?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents, Sales, Account Management, and B2b Sales. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
