Functional Job Title: Finance CoE-Treasury Asset Liability Management, Associate Vice President
Reports to : Finance COE Manager, AVP
Department/ Division : Finance CoE, Global Treasury, Asset Liability Management (ALM) Team
Basic Purpose of Job:
The Asset Liability Management (ALM) team within Global Treasury is responsible for optimizing the company’s balance sheet while maximizing net interest revenue (NIR) within our risk appetite and regulatory constraints. Key functions within ALM include balance sheet and NIR forecasting and interest rate risk (IRR) management which are supported by groups focused on data analytics, balance sheet modeling and senior management and Board reporting. ALM is also responsible for coordinating the company’s deposit pricing strategy, return on capital and funds transfer pricing methodologies and balance sheet strategy. ALM works closely with other functions across Global Treasury, Finance, Risk Management and Business Units.
This role sits at the intersection of Asset Liability Management, quantitative risk, technology, and business intelligence. This is a Senior Analyst contributor role within Treasury responsible for driving the end-to-end modernization of the ALM operating model — migrating manual, spreadsheet-intensive processes onto a cloud-powered, BI-driven platform anchored by QRM as the central calculation engine.
The role accelerates a transformation programme already underway. Immediate priorities include productionalising the Treasury Management Dashboard, executing the QRM Publish to MR integration to create a governed time-series dataset on cloud, and deploying Power BI on structured QRM outputs. Longer-term, the role will extend the ALM modernization model beyond ALM. The successful candidate will combine deep ALM domain expertise with hands-on QRM experience, Power BI or Tableau capability, and cloud data architecture knowledge.
Responsibilities & Tasks Include:
QRM Modernization & Integration
- Lead the migration of complex Excel-based ALM calculations into QRM, including NII simulation, EVE sensitivity, gap analysis, and liquidity stress testing.
- Own the implementation of the QRM Publish to MR functionality — designing the data flow from QRM outputs back to input transactional data to create a structured, governed time-series dataset on cloud.
- Explore and deploy QRM's attribution walk modules for NII and EVE, enabling waterfall analysis from base to target positions for senior management reporting.
- Manage the end-to-end QRM environment including scenario libraries, behavioural model inputs, repricing terms, and rate assumptions — ensuring all inputs are sourced from the single unified data layer.
Cloud & Data Architecture
- Partner with Data and IT functions to design and execute the migration of QRM time-series outputs to cloud storage.
- Define the data architecture that stitches QRM outputs to input transactional data in the cloud, enabling full lineage, audit trail, and automated refresh.
- Establish and govern the single source of truth for ALM data — ensuring all downstream reporting, BI tools, and risk systems consume from one authoritative, reconciled dataset.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Deploy Power BI dashboards on top of structured QRM outputs and cloud-hosted time-series data, replacing manual Excel-heavy reporting workflows.
- Drive the productionalisation of the Treasury Management Dashboard (TMD), expanding coverage across ALM, Liquidity, CIO, and Capital functions.
- Build self-service reporting capability so analysts can drill into any metric by product, segment, currency, or maturity bucket without IT dependency.
ALM Process & Analytics
- Produce NII and EVE attribution analysis that explains rate risk movements driver-by-driver, linking risk metrics directly to commercial margin outcomes.
- Develop time-series analytics and trend reporting to support ALCO and board-level decision making, earnings preparation, and regulatory stress-test readiness.
- Tie interest rate risk reporting to commercial margin metrics on the asset and liability sides of the balance sheet, enabling integrated risk and return analysis.
Stakeholder Management & Governance
- Present progress and outcomes directly to the Treasurer, ALCO, and senior management, translating technical developments into business impact.
- Manage relationships with QRM vendors, cloud infrastructure teams (DART/IT), and BI platform owners.
- Track and report against audit findings, MRM items, and model risk governance requirements within the Treasury Management Dashboard
- Support headcount planning, IT budget management, and implementation milestone tracking
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- 8–10 years of experience in Asset & Liability Management, Treasury, or interest rate risk at a bank, custodian, or financial institution
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional qualification preferred
Skills/ Knowledge:
- Hands-on experience with QRM (Quantitative Risk Management) including model configuration, scenario design, NII/EVE simulation, and ideally Publish to MR or attribution modules.
- Demonstrated experience leading or materially contributing to an ALM or treasury technology transformation — not just working within an established model but rebuilding or modernizing one.
- Experience designing or working with cloud-based data architectures for financial risk data — Azure, AWS, or GCP data lake environments.
- Able to take a highly technical QRM output or cloud architecture and communicate the business impact clearly to a Treasurer, CFO, or ALCO board.
- Track record of deploying BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) on large financial datasets to replace manual Excel-driven reporting.
- Comfortably owning a transformation programme end-to-end — from requirements definition through build, parallel run, sign-off, and decommissioning of legacy processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including IRRBB (BCBS 239), LCR, NSFR, and internal stress testing requirements.
- Surfaces issues early, manages stakeholder expectations transparently, and produces clear written materials for senior audiences without being asked.
- Works effectively across ALM, Liquidity, CIO, and Capital functions as well as IT, Data, Modeling, Risk, Audit, QRM vendor, and BI platform teams — this role is inherently cross-functional
