What is the opportunity?

As the Alternative Investments and Funds Specialist, Global Manager Research Asia, you will be responsible for product development and management activities supporting the Managed Solutions programs and platforms within the Private Banking channels across Asia, with a focus on Hedge Funds, Private Markets, and Alternative Strategies.

What will you do?

• Take the lead in managing the product line with primary focus on Hedge Funds, Private Markets, and other Alternative Strategies, plus secondary focus on Mutual Funds
• Evaluate, prioritise, and plan development of managed products platform in Asia
• Lead investment due diligence for funds to be included in the approved list following the RBC manager selection approach
• Generate ideas and conduct research on products relevant for clients in Asia
• Implement new products and enhancements to existing products, coordinating across systems, marketing, legal, compliance, and communication strategies
• Execute vendor contracts, negotiations, and develop strong relationships with product vendors to enhance service quality
• Act as liaison to various functional teams in product-related matters and provide administrative support for projects
• Enable sales of managed products to Relationship Managers and clients through marketing collateral, training programs, and educational campaigns
• Conduct quantitative analysis of product profitability, asset growth, revenue, expense, market share, and program features
• Proactively communicate with Relationship Managers to understand needs and continuously improve materials, tools, and programs

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, or Marketing
• 7–10 years’ experience in securities or financial markets, specifically with manager due diligence expertise
• Proficient understanding of Hedge Funds, Private Markets, and other Alternative Strategies as well as Mutual Funds
• Product advisory experience (internal and external) is required
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Excellent project management and organizational skills with good understanding of technology, operational, sales, and marketing issues
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and balance multiple projects
• Proficient with Morningstar and Microsoft Office, or ability to learn these systems

Nice-to-have

• Working knowledge of Avaloq banking system
• Advanced qualifications (MBA, MA, MS)
