Our purpose is to make global markets easier for our clients to navigate, combining deep market expertise with insights and capabilities that help them make better decisions.
Within Global Markets Sales, the Data & Analytics team uses data, analytics and commercial insight to help the business understand performance, identify opportunities and make more informed strategic decisions. Working across products and client segments, the team connects data with commercial context to understand what is driving outcomes, where opportunities exist and how activity can be better targeted and optimised.
Sitting at the intersection of analytics, markets and commercial strategy, the team partners closely with Sales and business leaders to turn complex information into actionable insights that support client opportunities, business performance and sustainable growth.
Do Work that Matters
As Associate Director, Performance Analytics & Strategy, you’ll play a leading role in helping Global Markets Sales understand business and client performance, identify commercial opportunities and translate data into informed strategic action. Combining strong analytical capability with commercial judgement, you’ll work across Global Markets Sales businesses and products to investigate performance, understand its underlying drivers and identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.
Your work will go beyond reporting what has happened to understand why it happened, what it means and where the business should focus next. You’ll partner closely with senior Sales and business leaders to understand their priorities, frame complex commercial questions and develop analytical approaches that support better decision-making. By connecting client, product and performance data with broader commercial context, you’ll generate insights that help shape strategy, assess the impact of business initiatives and enable more targeted activity. You’ll also help evolve how Global Markets Sales uses data and technology, exploring opportunities to apply AI, predictive analytics and emerging analytical capabilities to identify opportunities earlier, improve productivity and enable smarter, more scalable decision-making.
In this role, you’ll:
- Analyse client, product, sales and business performance to identify trends, opportunities, performance drivers and areas requiring deeper investigation.
- Develop analytical methodologies and frameworks that explain performance, assess the impact of business strategies and identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable commercial insights, strategic recommendations and executive-level narratives.
- Partner with senior Sales and business leaders to identify priorities, frame complex questions, challenge assumptions and influence strategic decision-making.
- Develop tools and methodologies that enable more targeted client and sales activity and provide greater visibility of commercial opportunities.
- Design intuitive dashboards and visualisations using Tableau and/or Power BI that enable stakeholders to understand performance, explore underlying drivers and identify areas requiring attention.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI, predictive analytics and emerging analytical capabilities to improve insight generation, productivity, sales effectiveness and decision-making.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the data and analytics strategy supporting Global Markets Sales.
- Strengthen data governance, quality and integrity, ensuring analysis, reporting and strategic decisions are supported by trusted data.
Your Skills & Experience
You’ll be a commercially minded analytics and strategy professional who is curious about what drives business performance. You enjoy interrogating data to understand not only what is happening, but why, connecting client behaviour, product performance, commercial activity and broader market dynamics to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions. You’ll combine strong analytical capability with commercial curiosity and strategic judgement, moving comfortably between detailed analysis and senior stakeholder conversations. You’ll be able to bring structure to ambiguous questions, challenge assumptions and turn complex findings into clear recommendations that influence strategy, performance, optimisation and growth.
In summary, you’ll bring:
- Strong experience across performance analytics, data and analytics, commercial analytics, strategy or a related analytical discipline, with a track record of using data and insights to influence business outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect analytical findings with client, product, sales and business performance and identify meaningful opportunities.
- Hands-on analytical capability using SQL and Python, alongside experience with visualisation platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience developing analytical methodologies, frameworks, reporting and decision-support tools that help organisations understand performance and make better decisions.
- The ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable commercial insights and strategic recommendations for senior audiences.
- Strong stakeholder capability, with the confidence to partner with senior leaders, challenge assumptions and build alignment across business and technology teams.
- An understanding of AI, predictive analytics and emerging analytical capabilities, with an interest in how they can be applied to improve performance, productivity and commercial outcomes.
- A strong understanding of data quality, governance and integrity and their importance in delivering trusted analytical outcomes.
- Knowledge of Global Markets, Institutional Banking or financial markets would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
We’re interested in hearing from people who may not meet every criterion. If you bring strong analytical capability, commercial curiosity and the ability to turn data into meaningful business outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
